why do u say its been hacked,is it down? I know they were having problems with Java not being secure anymore. also I noticec Cyber rights got a face lift.

Well - anyone correct me if I'm wrong here.

It's two different things:
1) Hacking into a web site
2) Reading encrypted files

Do you know the impossibility of cracking 128 bit encryption? It's virtually an impossibility. Hush uses a 1,028 bit encryption!

If someone hacks in or takes over a server, doesn't mean they can read your mail. I believe that all e-mail "stored" via Hush is encrypted. But - everyone should be corresponding Hush-to-Hush so messages will be secure if intercepted while being read/sent.

well,last night on the home page
all there was was a white screen and square in the center was a Pic of a badge and a not that said Your being watched by the secret service.
signed agents lerth and clown.

Today it seems to be fine./

Hushmail System Status
Sunday April 24, 12:00 AM PST
In recent hours we have been made aware that security was compromised at the domain registrar responsible for the hushmail.com domain. For a brief period, this domain was forwarded to a server belonging to an unidentified party, which resulted in our web page being unavailable or appearing defaced.

There was no unauthorized access to any of the Hush servers. Data managed by Hush was not compromised. During this period, email sent to hushmail.com will not have been delivered.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience this has caused. We take this incident very seriously, and will continue to update this page as more information becomes available.
