After being crucified by his peers, fans, and critics for over a decade it finally comes to this. I use to love watching him every week, shame it came to this.

He should have shut the hell up. Period. Yeah thats easier said than done but I dont care. He can take some responsibility for his actions and either stand up for what he did or say it was all wrong and get crucified for it.

i would love for just one athlete to come forward and say "yeah, i did it, and it was great. im happy i did" instead everyones always so sorry and ashamed. i think it would help with public awareness if these guys just told it like it is, instead of playing into the whole "steroids are bad" shit...maybe im just an asshole though...whatever..

When Sylvester Stallone got busted for hGH in Thailand, from what I remember he really wasn't apologetic at all. If I remember right, paraphrased he said, "Yeah, I take it, it's great. I think someday everyone will be taking it."

He had to come out and say he did them because he is going to be coaching now and would draw too much attention if he didn't. Some things are obvious, everyone knew he was on them anyways....

Therse two folks i ahve respect for . They say what they believe and do not act like babies and say they didn't know it was steroids or GH. I think Sylvester is a decent guy for taking the Anti poplular side.

I can see absolutely no benefit to his coming clean with the press. It proves him to be a liar to all and discredits anything he has said in the past as well. Not that I advocate dishonesty, but seriously, it's nobodies business but his own. Does anyone think for a second that this will put his critics to rest? Dude was an amazing athlete in his time..I get so sick when for the thousandth time I hear some potbellied 40 year old drunk tell me could have gone pro too if he had juiced like Mark. I see no honor in suicide

i love that canseco has been the most credible source to come out of this whole circus....and was blackballed from baseball for admitting it years ago...

read mcgwires comments...he really doesnt take the "blame"....he says he wishes he didnt play in the "steroid era"....like years of 1998-2006 were in conrtol of his actions...

just say f-it....everyone else was doing it....so i did it...QUIT PASSING THE BUCK on choices you make as an adult!!

I think he had to admit it to remain in baseball. The HOF is what matters to him and the voters are who he must convince, not a bunch of folks who get it like we all do.
