I've been reading the threads in this section - especially the "Inspiration and Motivation" thread - it's like a case study in performance psychology. What most people don't realize is that everything in your life is a direct result of your mindset. We live in an abundant universe in which there is plenty of money for anybody who really wants it and who knows how to aquire it and keep it. We are surrounded on all sides by blessings and opportunities to have all we could ever want. Your ATTITUDE, of either abundance or scarcity towards money, will have a major impact on whether or not you become wealthy.
One of the earliest pioneers of motivational speaking and the psychology of acheivement was Earl Nightengale. He said "You become what you think about most of the time." This fact is the root of every single motivational and acheivement philosophy in the world today. Like Big A said, money is an idea more than a physical thing. Your beliefs about money determine your reality. Many people have a negative attitude towards money. This can stem from many reasons, including cultural influences, family, friends, fear of success or failure, jealousy, insecurity, or many other reasons. I noticed that somebody wrote something in that thread about some people having a natural apptitude for business, and some people being destined to be workers, etc. If you believe that you can't do something, then that is your reality, and that belief WILL come true in your life. Instead of saying "I couldn't do that", say "HOW could I do that?" People become wealthy because they believe they have the ability to become wealthy. When you believe this, you will consistantly take the necessary actions to turn your beliefs into reality.
The first step to getting everything you want in life is to change your mindset/attitude and eliminate negative self-talk. The second is to set clearly defined goals and WRITE them down. The third step is to develop a plan to systematically achieve those goals. You can have and achieve everything you ever wanted in life. I know most of you have pretty well defined goals when it comes to training - whether that is a certain bodyweight, an arm measurement, or max bench. You focus on it, think about it while you aren't at the gym - you BELIEVE that you can hit it, and you take the actions necessary to do it. And you do. It's the same with money. But to be happy and balanced, set goals in all areas of life : financial, career, spiritual, physical, and family.
