Want to know if anyone else has had misalignment problems similar to mine please chime in.

well from what the chiro has told me and what i can see, my hips seem to be forced to my right side. for almost a yr i would have bad lower back pain on my rightside when i would do squats or deads. massage and adjustments did nothing for the pain.only after i started rolling my lower back on a pvc pipe did that pain completely disappear.no pain at all when i squat or deadlift now.
now my mid back on my left side seems to get pumped to point where it gets a bit painful when i start walking for more than a couple of mins.when i lay down on the massage table the left side of my back looks swollen or lifted depending who you ask. im tired of this shit what are your suggestions?

Go buy 2 basketballs, one full sized & one smaller one. (6" dia)

Make sure they're both full of air, not necessarilly rock hard, but firm.

Sit on your ass in the middle of the floor with your legs spread in a "V" shape with your knees 1/2 buckled. (legs bent at 90 degrees)

Place the large Bball right behind your ass & lay back onto it untill your torso is parallel with the floor with most of your body weight pushing down on the Bball.

There should be 3 points of contact (control & weight bearing) with the floor: 1. The ball 2. Your left foot. 3. Your right foot.

With this 3 point triangular shape, you can learn to ballance your upper body parallel with the floor while gravity pushes your torso down over the Bball, massaging you wherever the muscles are tightly knotted up. As you contract the back of your thighs, your ass will pull closer to your feet, bringing the Bball pressure closer to your head. Contracting your quads will roll your ass away from your feet, positioning the Bball closer to under your ass/tailbone area.

With practice you will be able to ballance well enough to not fall off the ball. More practice will teach you to position the force where it's needed. Further practice will teach you to adjust the angle of your torso to effect pressure into your back/spine more from the left or right etc.

After you master the full sized Bball, try moving to the small one. This will penetrate the muscles deeper. I've heard of people using balls as small as baseballs etc, but I found the pain of spinal muscle penetration too intense to use near a site of serious injury.

This not a substitute for proper massage, chiropractic, or physiotherapy, but I've found it to give me some measure of relief when my back muscles tighten up. It's the cheapest, easiest & most effective self therapy for sore/tight back muscles that I've found.

Be carefull, don't hurt yourself. I'd hate to see you aggravate your injury by trying this. Go gentle. Try it at your own risk.

Nice post Newman. I'm going to try this.

Don't get discouraged if you fall off the ball a few times. It takes a little practice to master, but eventually you will get so good you can even relax certain muscles while keeping other ones under tension for stability.

Of course, the ones you want to relax are the ones that the ball is pushing up into. Relaxing them is hard at first because they're the sore ones, so the instinct is to let them clinch up for protection. Relaxing them allows for deep tissue massage---for free forever after the Bballs are paid for.

i tried the basket ball yesterday and today, but it didnt give me a deep massage like rolling on a pvc pipe.is there anything else any thing can think of .i stared doing more stretching as well but it seems my left side wont take like the right.
