bodybuilding/mma are my two obsessions and i want to learn all i can about them. can anyone tell me how an athlete training in mma/bjj/muay thai should weight train in comparison to a bodybuilder?
They are very different. I train only in the three sports you mention. Now that it's summer I enjoy running on the beach, which can lead to excessive cardio if trying to gain mass. If you want to excel in either sport you have to make a choice it helps to have a base when transitioning into a new sport. It's easy for me with having mass to get back into Jits & Kick boxing by just stopping all weight training, and doing more endurance type workout using just body weight, and plyometrics with a lot more cardio.
