Ok not here to be judged this is simply what i do and have done for a long time....in response to several threads on the subject

As some of you know I work with a functional medicine specialist that has helped me work through many health problems both physical and mental (which are really one in the same once you understand the principle…another story) anyway he handles all my labs including my hormone replacement. It is checked every 8 weeks so how does a self admitted gearhead manage to stay happy, huge, and retain his fairly generous test cyp script? Well pull up a chair and let me tell you.

OK lets assume day one is blood draw day…here is my pattern

Day one – go to lab have blood drawn
Day two – start short acting injectables (generally test prop/masteron/tren acetate or a combination or two or more). I keep the dose around 200mg per day total. Run like this for 5 weeks. Also during this time non-stop is my scripted hrt (200mg of test cyp per week taken in two 100mg shots Monday and Thursday).

Now some of the more astute out there may be thinking…no way can you do 200 and not go out of range…well your right…if I were to take the shots and then go to the lab. So here is what happens.

At the end of the 5 weeks of hard short acting injectables, I have three weeks to work with. For those three weeks I REDUCE my scripted amount to 100mg per week. Then I stop COMPLETELY 5 days out from blood draw day. I then go get blood draws, and just start over. My labs come out mid-normal for a forty year old and we are all happy.

Wow, nice planning skills, morepain! So you run short acting esters all the time? (because it looks like you get tested every 2 months)

As an off topic question: How are your liver values, kidneys, etcetera from the Tren. Just wondering because spiked values and mid-range Test levels could cause the Doc to have some questions.

Thanks for sharing.

yes the only add ins are short acting esters...i get very full panels done each time not just hormones. Functional medicine is the practice of optimizing the bodies nutritional / hormonal / digestive status for optimal health and performance. I have never had any labs that raised any red flags. The whole process started years ago when i sought out the help of this functional medicine pscchiatrist to get me off of meds...now he handles my entire health spectrum. I ahve not been ill in any form for over two years...ever since we got my system dialed in.

smart man is smart

WAY COOL....

Thanks for sharing, makes sense.

I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on how to do this with long esters with more time between blood work. Say 3-4 months...

Sound plan for doing what you want to do. Does the doc keep an eye on things like hematocrit and liver enzymes too? Just wondering if those levels are checked, as I would worry especially about the HCT/HB.

Your plan has one fatal flaw. The labs can be returned as "quantity insufficient", or have another error that would require an earlier retest. This error can be on the part of the labs or on the blood draw tech, and is relatively common.

Nice post mp, do you cycle the short esters every time between bloodwork, or do you cruise on the 200mgs cyp every once in a while? Does the doc check your weight regularily?

Actually this is more common as most endos see you every three months. So 8 or 9 week blast with 3 or 4 weeks on HRT for blood work.
You can always call and change your appointment if you need more time;) actually, once you get set with your regemine and all is well you only see them every six months. This has been my experience anyway.

everything bro....i could send you the lab list but i am not going to post the whole story hear it is VERY long and i just don;t think there is that much interest in it. lets say it like this on a full round of labs they pull about 40 tubes of blood. thats twice per year then in between they pull about 20 each time. He anallyzes every aspect of my blood chemistry.

for endos yes...this guy is a functional medicine practitioner he addresses whole body health so we run tests of some sort every 8 weeks. then we fine tune diet and supplements to achieve blood desired blood levels and test again next time. This is NOT just hormone replacemetn this is whole body/mind helath management thru optimizing blood profiles .

Is this in USA? thats a great approach , most western medicine docs don't want or arent willing to spend that much time and effort. They do blood work then push the pen to try "normalize" usually according to quest diagnostics normal ranges.
Is he he a M.D. or D.O.? I often get very frustraed with traditional medicine.I even went to Chiropractic school but don't believe in their philosophies either.I earned my bitches and opinions on that one as I attended two diff. schools and paid 100k for that education or lack there of,lol.I have two of them in my family as well as M.D.s so we have had to agree to disagree and argue about other things:)

heres the deal...he is an orthomolecular psychiatrist...he practiced for years as a standard psychiatrist then shifted his practice to orthomolecular psychiatry...then morphed into entire body and mind health utilizing the principles of functional medicine.....i have a very long story that is still in process explaining my path...its posted on some privcate baords but i don;t put it on public boards due to the fact that there are jsut too many idiots out there in cyberspace that i ahve no intention of arguing with. however if you are interested in this sort of thing i would urge you to go to functionalmedicine.org and look up practitioners in your area.

Thanks morepain. This is very interesting stuff, and a great contribution .

Thats good to know. Many guys have trouble with hematocrit getting too high while just using normal hrt dose of between 100-200 mg/wk, yet alone running blast cycles inbetween. Hematocrit/hemoglobin would be the one thing I would be most concerned about. Sounds like yours is within normal limits then.

I apoligize in advance if this is too remedial of a question, but my question is about what you are referring to, I just wanted to run the specific numbers by you .... my script is 200mg/week test cyp which puts me in the upper 1/3. I only have the test cyp to work with. If I were to double it to 400mg/week for 8 weeks, then 4 weeks at the script dose, would that be enough time at the HRT dose to bring me back within range for the blood test even with the long acting cyp?

Thanks in advance

That is exactly what many I know do.Blast 8 weeks then cruise 4 weeks at Hrt dose. Now the last week of HRT do your last shot 7 or 8 days before bloodwork. Then come home after blood work and start up again blasting for 8 weeks.I know some that even only do 100 mg for last couple shots which is still a HRT dose, just to be sure levels arent too high.
