How To Grow On Instagram As A Bodybuilder?

Basically try to converse and mingle with the bigger names of the game without being a very clear leech.

Plus good content + luck + standout.

Great comment actually. I appreciate your insight.
Yes sir

I always imagined these would result in "fake followers" or "bots"

Plus considering that you'd have to actually post pictures of yourself as a bodybuilder, I'm not sure what an agency could help with.

...by the way I'm not saying they can't. I'm just saying I'm not informed on (1) how they could help and (2) where to even find a reputable agency like this that wouldn't just get me "fake followers"
I worked at an agency for 5 years. A reputable agency doesn't get you fake followers because fake followers don't convert and that's all that matters in the end.

Do you think an agency isn't going to ask for pictures of you to post? You have a lot to learn

Google maintains a directory of high quality agencies who have met certain standards to be listed there.

Overall it seems like you've already made up your mind on this before asking for opinions so good luck with it.

I haven't made up my mind I said very clearly I'm not informed on the topic. Thank you for sharing your perspective. I really don't know much of anything about social media agencies and I'm not trying to act like I do.

I'll look into though

Overly complicate training, bash and ban those who oppose your thinking, call people idiots who think differently, claim to be one of the handful of people on earth that can properly interpret studies, claim other worldly faith and being above reproach ethically and morally, appear all knowingly in all things training and relationships, cater to those that bow down to your amazing self,
Oh yeah, I forgot, cater to the skinny/fat that worship the above type...........
Make sure you have a thesaurus and use that sucker.

Ex. Stop everything but test for12 weeks.

"We are now going to leverage testosterone as our sole driver of myo retention as we transition into a rejuvenation phase for 12 weeks while we wash off the excess toxicity of the 19-nor class of androgens..................."

TLDR: Be gooder at word vomit.

What’s the cost of someone hiring an agency to boost social media presence?

Most agencies work on tiered pricing. Tier one might be $1,000/month and get you 4 stories and 4 posts per month (created by agency and approved by you) and a guarantee of 20 new followers; tier 2 might be 8 stories and 8 posts per month and 60 new followers. They do this because high paying accounts that are doing well then subsidize lower paying accounts that need more work to succeed.

The singe biggest mistake I saw with clients in my agency days was they never read the monthly reports so they had no clue what they were getting for their money. If a client doesn't read their reports and make sure they get what they're paying for then they deserve to be taken advantage of because they don't really care about growing their business.

Post everyday and just post. It's a numbers game it's kind of like finding a girl ask 10 girls out maybe one says yes. Try to have a good personality
This. The most popular content creators are making content all the time. They figure out what their base likes and tweak as the go.

The other way is to just buy the followers off 4chan or Reddit.

Depends on who and how much you’re paying. You can hand over your content to someone and they will specialize in engagement and quality.

Dont. 😅. Unless you've got fuck you money or have very competent business coaching... or you're just doing it out of pure passion and are willing to see this as an expense.

Fitness in general is one of the most over saturated social media markets. 99% of fitness influencers and IFBB pros with large followings are broke as fuck. I've spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on social media marketing for the fitness industry. It is extremely competitive and you'll be going up against people using their fitness/bodybuilding as a loss leader for other business opportunities.

Fitness influencers and IFBB pros with large followings (of real people) are broke as fuck?

I'd imagine either of those kinds of people at least make $50k+ annual from their physique. Which that may not be a lot, but it's still pretty cool considering that they've done it from their greatest hobby.

I'll completely admit that making a side-income/living from this sport is an eventual goal of mine.

I don't think I could hire an agency to begin with. That price isn't within my budget. Simply interacting with others and making quality posts will have to be my means of marketing myself.

Yes. You’d be surprised. The majority are broke as fuck. Supply and demand. Most people don’t give a fuck about fitness let alone bodybuilding.

Then your homie that sells insurance and drives a 2008 Honda civic is a low key multi millionaire.

all the ones I know who are an influencer and successful with it all say just be consistent with posting videos or posts.

It also helps to probably have a unique personality w/ an edge in your vids and do some stuff that is "attention seeking" from what I've seen as of lately as well.

Before he died Sean Rhoden followed my IG by accident. One of the big accounts, I forget who it was, shared a video of some guy deadlifting around 800 in flip flops and jean shorts. I commented on the video, and Rhoden somehow got the idea I was the guy in the video and followed me.

Just a funny story that backs up what Slesh was saying about interacting with big accounts and the potential for getting followers that way

Is your goal to make a side-income, or to increase your follower count?
If the former, how do you provide value? How do you monetize?

I have a goal to accomplish both.

The bare minimum follower count goal of mine is to have enough of a following to be deemed credible and worth hiring.

Unfortunately, much of what gets you clients isn't based in your competence but based upon popularity. Hany Rambod is a notorious example of this.

-----------------

That being said, to be a worthwhile coach, and someone actually respectable, you should have a semblance of a clue what you're talking about. That's the greatest way to provide value, and to actually keep your clients long-term. Get them the results they are after without jeopardizing their health and do so with replicable consistency.

Then the last question, how do I monetize?
Honest answer is: I don't fully have that thought out yet.

In the meantime I'm building myself as a competitive bodybuilder, my online following on Instagram, and the knowledge I gather along the way. Once I get to a point I deem acceptable I'll pull the trigger and make a one-page website with a "buy now" button to sign-up for monthly coaching.

It sounds like you might be trying to put the cart before the horse.

What should I be doing if I want to eventually be a coach?

Not a hostile question. Genuine curiousity to what your advice would be.
