I answered this in the other thread for you ,but after hearing more ,it sounds like you are holding a ton of water. No way would you be that tight if you were not holding a ton of fluid at 10% . Not even close. Go get your BP checked for me please. I bet it is high. You need to quit eatting so much crap bro. You are trying to be a national level guy .You can't eat like that anymore bro [even with your metabolism ]and get to where you want to be .

You need to be eatting like this at least 5 -6 days a week like this

meal 1 : 12 eggs 6 whole 1 cup of oatmeal w sweeter and raisens

meal 2: 50 gram shake with 2tbsps nat pb

meal 3 : 8oz ground beef half cup of kindney beans half cup of black beans , chilie powder and onions ....taco bell hot sauce .....made into chille
meal 4 : 50 gram shake 2 tbsps nat pb
meal 5: same as meal 3
meal 6: 8oz chicken 1cup of brown rice half cup of black beans ,small salad with olive oil
meal 7 : 8oz chicken salad w olive oil

meal 8 same as meal 2 or a 16 oz lean steak

snack on cashews thoughout the day ............don't salt yor food and drink lots of water and tea......supp w a good mult vit /min and extra c and cal,mag ,zinc[2x a day]..............if you want to be hardcore ,you can supp pre during and post workout........which be 11 meals on training days basically.....cardio 3 days week for 30 min in am ............one day a week cheat all day anything you want.....if you do you are dedicated enough to do this Phil, then I assure you that you will get where you wish to be........it is very tough to be that commited for a long period ......but will be very worth your effort if you do .....diet in off season is huge......I don't think you are getting what it takes and you are risking your long term health by eating like shit while being on.........sounds like you need to come off ....get your blood work done......and try a diet like posted above............ball in your court .....but this is what it takes ,day in and day out if you want to hang with the best.......is it fun or easy ?......hell no...but that is what it takes to be a champ in this sport .........

TP i agree with iabadman, you are holding way too much fluid. You may not look bloated but you are in fact water retentive big time. The pain in your lower back could be kidneys under a hell of a lot of stress. Get your diet clean as has been mentioned. You are suffering from rebound really bad. Your electrolytes are all out of balance. Get this sorted as soon as possible or you are headed for trouble. Yes even after all this time. So c\please clean up the diet, drink plenty of water, watch the salty foods and get checked bro.

Couldn't agree more with Iabadman and OF. I don't remember exactly what your weight was for the show, but in 5 weeks there's no way those extra pounds are lean tissue only... so if you're really 10%, you carry a lot of water from all the symptoms you just described.

I kinda experienced the same thing two weeks ago after a whole month eating tons of dark chocolate (great for your mood :p ) and barely no training... went from a lean 240 to 280 "a little too quickly" :p

Well... after 10 days eating potassium loaded fruits as the sole carb source (about 300g/day) with protein shakes and olive oil only (absolutely no high salt processed food), I carried much better my 270 lbs. Now, after having taken care of the bloat, it's up to the fat to be shed...

That's the hardest part in this sport... being on spot food wise all year long... sometimes you can go crazy really easily

I'm guessing you're still on steroids? I wouldn't really blame diet per se, since diet alone doesn't cause that type of muscle tightness. The steroids will cause sodium retention regardless of diet. Add in the increased blood volume and glycogen stores and it can get bad.

"Muscle tightness" is the reason track athletes came off steroids a few days before an event and experimented with EOD dosing to try to avoid getting tight.

water weight is not easy to carry

last summer when I was around 280 I had a hard time walking lol and even sometimes some breathing difficulties when I was falling asleep

just like Phidias I dropped a few lbs and feel now a lot better, but water weight is for sure totally unconfortable and unhealthy bro

I think weight gain must be made step by step to be handled or health may be a concern on the long run

drop a few lbs of water bro and I bet u'll feel better

At 5'11" when I was 265lbs a few months ago it was just too much. Couldnt put on socks, hamstrings would always cramp up, heartburn all day, wake up middle of night puking a little bit of acid up, out of breath walking to the car,etc...

I am considering dropping some bodyweight, as i dont think im holding this well. Its been 5 full weeks since my show, the bloat is 100% gone and im still holding 240lbs at approx 10% bf. Well... my arms and hands fall asleep at night (and im NOT on ANY GH)....my lower back hurts when i walk... upper back even hurts at times if im sitting long enough. Alot of my muscles feel either tight or like they are going to cramp or both. I cant bend down to tie my shoes due to my hams/glutes being wayy too tight. If i stretch them out i can do it easily, but it tightens up again within hours. Iv tried stretching multiple times per day for a week and it didnt help. Triceps are INSANELY tight to where i touch my face and they feel like theyr going to tear (but NO pain during workouts at all and have gained a LOT of strength and im training them HEAVY). If i hit a front double or back double bi my chest tightens and spasms? What is going on with my body? I mean im not even training often, maybe EOD. What can i do about this?

I know what you mean dude, or I should say I used to know. I have switched up my training from resistance training with heavy weights with mass/strength as the goals in mind, to Plyometrics, and strength and conditioning. I rarely use more then my body weight when training. now I'm fast, flexible, and in great shape, I can run a marathon tomorrow I wanted too. In the process I have went from 235lbs to about 210lbs, I lost bit of strength, some size but I'm in a lot better shape IMO.

You just need to find some activities you like for cardio, reduce your calories, switch up your training.. completely. I use Jiu Jitsu, running, sprints, swimming, grappling, heavy bag drills, or 5 min round simulation S&C routines for my cardio/conditioning. I enjoy it so much, so its not hard to get motivated.

What is your height TP? that will be better deciding factor if 240lbs is the right weight for you. We already know its not based off your symptoms, if you are concerned with them at least.

potassium up....... sodium way down bro... this has happened afta all 3 of my comps... just cos i looked good didn mean there wasn lotsa sodium and water.

also how much water yoou drinking???? after everything your body beenthru prolly shud be 5-6ltres+????

I found myself in a similar situation this past summer after my show. I gained about 50 lbs (181 to 228) in about 20 days. The funny thing is after the show I didn't do anything crazy with food. I basically just reintroduced carbs and ate lots of them. I experienced many of the same sides (arms falling asleep, extreme lower back tightness/pain, swollen ankles/feet). The worst side however was the pumps I would get when I was training. They were so intense that after a few sets they would become painful. After about a month the sides and the water started to fade and I felt much better.

TPFU, I used to have the same issues. Although I was carrying alot more BF than you I had all the same problems. I literally couldn't walk more than a 100 feet without being in pain from my lower back. I couldn't breathe, I was out of breath walking a 100 feet, I wasn't able to get my dick hard ever.. all at a ripe age of 31.

So like Dave said above I made a choice one day that I would rather be alot smaller and healthier than big, intimidating and not able to do anything. Plus I had no aspirations of ever competing.. The older I get, the more I realize health is more important than size. Maybe something to keep in mind.

5'8". Guess i should have given more info. Yes im still on some AAS, but not alot(100mg prop 3x/wk, 50mg tren same days). Im pretty sure the bloat is gone because i look a HELL of a lot better and leaner than i was at 246-248 10 days after my show. Strength is through the roof too (but im being careful). If you look at it i was 215 the last 3 weeks of my prep, so realistically its only a LBM gain of about 10-12lbs (and about 10lbs of fat) if you consider water gain associated with new muscle. I also did what Phidias said (fruit only all day with protein shakes) for about 4 days straight. I went through the "painful pump" phase 2 weeks ago, its faded and is pretty much gone now unless i eat a ton of carbs preworkout, which is normal. Im drinkings lots of water now and i piss alot so i know im not holding it. Blood pressure 2 days ago perfect (2 weeks ago was 140/80, still not THAT bad). Blood work getting done in 3-4 weeks (as iv just come off).

my hands fall asleep at night too. so much that it wakes me up hurting. i am bloated as hell but i am coming off this week. also my lower back hurts like you were talking abiut. i had my kidney function checked just to make sure and it was all good.

To answer the orginal question I don't think you ever get used to it until you go up past the point and come down meaning you 260-270 then come back down to 240 you don't feel as bad. Plus you forget what it was like to be at a lower bweight.:D
but you are in for a long road of pain if you continue up into 260-270 cramping tight uncomfortable breathing etc etc etc. just part of the game if size is your concern which most everyones is.

That is what I was going to say......Putting size on is downright painful and uncomfortable......Your body will fight you tooth and nail as you are pushing it out of homeostasis

I honestly am looking to the day where I don't feel like this....lol

I've felt like this before when I was at my biggest 270lbs. Now 245 and feel normal. At the high weight I would run out of breath walking up a flight of stairs. If I jumped I felt like I would tear my quad. Kidneys hurt. Snored like a mofo. Your body is telling you something.
I also notice that when I gain a large amount of weight and reach a new phase of mass, my body feels uncomfortable. It takes a few months for my body to get used to the new weight. For my body to "settle in" to it's new weight.

That's why I told you I hate being in the 270-280 range anymore TP. My body just reminds me all the time how unhealthy it is by turning numb, limbs falling asleep, high BP. And yes 140/80 is very high for your age. Remember, BP will get worse as you age by default so keep that in mind. Good luck buddy and be safe.

And I thought it was just me... I recently put on 15lbs after coming off my keto diet. I got all the same symtoms described above...terrible lower back pains (felt like someone was punching me in the kidneys), painful dulling headaches, laziness and extreme muscle fullness. Decided I had enough and fasted on water and lean protein for 2 days and immediately dropped most of the weight. Damn what a miserable ride!

I was the same way after USA's...And I only got up to 216...God i felt like crap...arms were falling asleep at night...heavy breathing...I settled back down to 205 and feel much better...I remember back when I use to get up to 195 and feel like hell...So the body just has to slowly adjust...Pretty soon youll feel like shit at 260 and feel normal at 240...

im sitting around 235 right now, and i have the same exact issues. cant put my shoes and socks on, cant walk for fifty feet without my quads, glutes and hamstrings getting so pumped i feel crazy. when im doing dishes i have to take a step back and rest my weight on the counter for a sec cause my lower back is cramped. thats not even to mention trying to do legs or back in the gym. but i get to the point where my appetite shuts down for a day, and my weight comes back down 3-4 pounds. that seems to make all the diff in the world. i think i want to stay at this weight, just try to make it a leaner 235, although im only 10-11% now.
