i need the computer experts to chime in here. I am in the market for a new computer real soon and I am considering switching to an Apple. What do our resident computer peeps think about them, pros and cons? Thanks for any input

MAC's RULE!

I've been using a Mac for over 10 yrs now. I've been on both PC and Mac platforms, but personally I LOVE Macs. The new Mac OS X (not sure what version they are up to now) is even better. It runs smoother with out hang ups or crashes. I use MS office for Mac along with my usual Adobe programs. At work, I'm linked to our corporate network. I can store programs on the server just like everyone else who all are on PC's. My files for Excel, Word, PDF's, jpg, tif, etc are all compatible with the other PC's, so they can open these files if the need too... we all share files.

Oh, also you can even run PC programs with a program called Virtual PC. It even looks like PC's MS windows. I don't use this, but it an option.

I have iBook at home and a older G4 at work... wish my boss would let me get a new one.

parallels for mac is like vmware.. you can run XP virtualized in a mac window - my mac computer guys all do that.

only downside to a mac that I can see is the extra cost. im in the Networking field and im seriously considering an apple laptop for my next comp.
