O/T : Gyms in Manhattan area..

Hi people,

After 3 contests, I will taking a bit of holiday and shall be flying all the way to the big apple for some relaxation ... (if there can be relaxation in NY lol ) ... anyway... Are there any good gyms in that area? I shall be staying somewhere on East 73 And York Avenue Manhattan...

There is a 24 hour fitness on 59th street. No contract open 24 hours and pretty decent. Also right off the subway station.

There's a Golds Gym in Manhatten that I go to when Im up there 3 or 4 times a year for work. Cant remember the street, but its about 10 blocks up from TIme Square. Google Golds in NYC, its listed.

My favorite gym in NYC. It is the last of the "Hardcore". Place is the jam!!! Got a ton of hammerstrength for chest/back, great leg machines, every kind of bar you can think of, and dumbbells up to 200 You can scream and chalk all you want and there are tons of NPC competitors training there. IFBB Pro Capriese Murray is a popular trainer there also. You prob can get a good deal on a short term membership. Hope to see you there.

I'm moving to this area next week and just asked a coworker about gyms. There is supposed to be a decent NYSC on 86th and Lex. I use the term with decent NYSC loosely.

Someone already mentioned Steel. I don't know what 19th Street gym is now called, but heard good things about the new gym in that location. Mid City gym has a couple locations and might be the cheapest decent option.

It's ok, but I recommend you stay out of the locker room, and definitely away from the steam room. Homo central in there, and management doesn't do shit about it. Fags run the city.

Oh, and its not on the eastside, but I recommend the Mid-City Gym on 49th and 8th ave. Basic, but good.

Um, Steel Gym is mostly "homos" too. I guess us fags do rule the city. Or at least the gyms.

5th Ave Bodybuilding gym Brooklyn

If you want to train @ a old hardcore gym that was started in the late 70's hop on the train and travel over to Brooklyn to 5th Ave bodybuilding gym. That's where I train primarily for the last 10 years. It on the corner of 5th AVe and 15 th st. in Park Slope. 5th Ave is the gym where Kai Greene trained and was introduced to bodybuilding. Many champions have trained there over the years... Have a great time in NYC..there is certainly much to do and see.

That's every gym I've ever been to in the city.

To the OP, I checked out the 86 and Lex NYSC, for an NYSC it was actually decent. I think Kimali used to train at this locaion.

There's a NYSC on 76th street and York Ave if I remember correctly!
