(IS THIS KID HAVING AN AWESOME CHILDHOOD OR WHAT)

Enal, a young sea nomad, rides on the tail of a tawny nurse shark, in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Marine nomadism has almost completely disappeared in South East Asia as a result of severe marine degradation. I believe children such as Enal have stories that could prove pivotal in contemporary marine conservation.

exactly more power to him! I'm glad I was born in the good ol USA. Weird how different life can be just by being born/brought up in a different place. The options/life values/etc can really shape you. I mean I didn't have it easy as a young one and coming from a large family food was scarce, but nothing like in some 3rd world countries for sure.

It never ceases to amaze me how kids from all around the world discover what fun is or can be, based on where they live. Or even what their economic resources are. We have kids in the U.S. who have every type of electronic whatever in their house, and yet will never know what a simple enjoyment it is to go out and just discover the world around them. I would say this kid will grow up to be a well rounded and happy with what very little he has. More so then most kids in the U.S. who have it all and grow up to be wrotten adults.

I agree. I grew up in a third world country, and then moved here as a very young teenager. Life is very different. In third world country you play with hwat you have sticks and tires, stones pebbles etc lol. Not many people care much about looks and superficial things. When money is so tight where you have to worry bout where the next batch of food comes from the last thing on peoples mind would be too worry about plastic surgery or steroid injections.

Fast Forward to USA. AMazing conutry. Hands down the best country in teh world I have been too, and Allthough things are bad right now, I would much rather be in USA then anywhere else. This country gives you the opportunity to be AS succesfull as you want as long as you are willing to put in the effort. In third world countries you are either born rich, poor or middle class ,and will stay like that forever for the most part. the only thing in this country is with teh stress of being the best comes a lot of pressure that I had not felt in my old country.

All in all in a perfect world I love USA and would never want to leave here, but would love to trip around for 2-3 months a year in smaller "rural" countries to experience the "purer" life
