Hey everyone. Wanted to get some feedback from you. Of course everyone knows the mandatory poses for 1/4's but do you have any favorites that are not the norm (and not with blood like the vampire freak).

Just curious as to what everyone's opinions would be on some optional poses for routines that you like.

Optional poses are what ever you want them to be. You need to be creative at showing off your best assetts. It is all about angles and lighting! It comes down to standing in front of a mirror and do some different stuff. At the end of the day there are only so many different ways to show off a physique. Some are very good at it and create a beautiful illusion on stage. Others are not quite as graceful and should stick to variations of mandatory poses. Where you can get very creative is in the transitions between your poses. Ed Corney was a master of the "transitional pose". Look at some of his old routines and you will see what I mean. Moving muscle always looks better IMO than stationary muscle.
 
I do good to hit the mandatories. I could use some major help with poses. :eek:

I think when you are looking at the importance in posing whether it be the mandatories or otherwise you need to focus more on the transitions than most do. You are being watched the entire time you pose so transitions are what make great posers. Also be weary of your expressions as they add a lot to a routine.

TRUE! Make sure you look as good IN BETWEEN poses as you do when you hit them. There are no "favorite" poses... everyone is different. Example.....one of my favorites is twisting DBI when levrone hit its... now when badell hits it its ugly. Pick YOUR strong poses. It wont do you any good to hit a fancy pose that makes you look like shit

But of course, if it doesnt feel natural or flow smoothly, it wont be in there. I think the only one that has seen my routines on the board in the past is Main.


And yes Main, I have something special in store for you on stage!:rolleyes:
