Ot/ Ideas on proposing?

Man Im far from romantic but Im hoping maybe some of you are
or have maybe seen something good one could use.

Ive been with my G/f now for 11+ years and I guess its time I need to
finally break down and pop the question. shes hinted around SOOomany times
and I always just tell her WHY we need to get married? lol, Thats the leading cause of divorce. pisses her off

Even at christmas and B/days Ill just take her and let her pick what she wants
Im terrable with surprises and planning things.

any ideas? Im all ears
Im planning a trip to vegas here very soon, I may try and do it there but Im not sure.. shes always said she wants her Gma and family to be there
BUT damn Im not looking forward to this. I hate family reunions and pictures
hugging people you hardly like etc.. a reception I can handle though

I proposed to my girlicn her homeland of Poland so she could tell all her realitives while she was thier. I found a retaurant that was ranked the 2nd best in the country,which was in Krakov. The restaurent was a old castle. I called ahead of time and they siad no one really goes on Tues nights. I paid the owner extra money to have the place to myself for 2 hrs. Good thing U.S money is worh 5 times more when i went. The waiters werer dressed like jesters and i proposed at desert. She loved it and was amazed how we had the whole castle to ourselves.

id say if she wants her fam there, then u gotta bite the bullet n do it that way, maybe at christmas dinner. wrap the ring in a small box, then inside another larger then inside a HUGE box, all with enuff wrapping to hide the next box, then when she opens it, smile, kneel down, and pop it

DUDE to be honest it doesnt seem like your ready to be married ,,, its NOT about you its about LOVE bro , Vegas is a hell hole i wouldnt ever propose anywhere near there .

heres what to do look into helicopter flights and find one that takes you to the top of a mountain have the pilot say i gotta make an emergency stop as a decoy then at the top of the mountain there will be a table waiting for the both of you with a waiter and gourmet foos being served ,,, just u and her alone on the top of a mountain or larger foothill as she sees the table she her heart will race and after dinner propose to her in twilight hour where the sun is going down this memory will last for eternity trust me .

They have deals like this here in AZ im sure you could find one out there , the cost of the helicopter ride and dinner is $2000 but its the women your gonna marry the girl u fell in love with so whats money bro

honest answer...

leave as is....in my opinion all marriages suck after a while...sometimes people settle... I did it twice and thats enough ...but if you do just do what you want dont follow any mushy bullshit , and a ring is fine but I know a lot of guys taking out loans to pay for a ring they shouldnt or cant fucking afford....upgrade later ...the showy shit lasts a few days till your payments roll in on it monthly.

MY WIFE AND I DATED FOR 5 YEARS AND I THOUGHT THAT WAS BAD..if she has waited that long she is special.. you need to make it a moment that she can brag about.. i disagree with draven in that i have been with my wife for 15 years total and she is still the greatest women in the world.. but, i am very lucky.. i do agree with draven in that do not bankrupt yourself on a ring.. ihave seen it a thousand times.. if she loves you she will not care what you spent but, will be just excited at the meaning.. i spent very little on her ring because i bought a house for us before the wedding.. but, ever few years i add to the ring.. now its a honker baby..!! after 11 years it will not matter what yo do to propose.. just ,ake it sincere and from the heart.. getting carried away with props can backfire and take away from the meaning.. a buddy of mine rented the exact same first movie they ever saw together and tried to duplicate the first date in every way.. she did not know what was going on til the end of the night when he ws taking her home.. he proposed then.. like i said.. just make it mean something.. like vander said.. it has nothing to do with you and what you like.. it is about her.. what does she like?? what was a difining moment in your relationship?? think along those lines.. as for the helicopter to the mountain..for me it is not very romantic if my lacy is covered in puke form motion sickness..

Before my wife and I met and dated I only dated younger women. All of the women my age (28-32) were only interested in getting marrried. I was not! So, to remedy the situation I dated 80-24 year olds. No marriage expectations there. Worked well! In fact, my last girlfriend ever before my wife was 19 and I was 31. She was HOT too! Anyway...

But everything changed when I met my wife. I knew on our first date that we'd be together forever - YEAH, I KNOW - sounds cheesy, but true.

We were eating dinner at a nice restaurant in FOXWOODS (weekend trip from NY) and all of a sudden she was like "Maybe we should get married!" I said, "Yeah, let's do that." We borrowed the waiter's pen and started to make an invite list and some preliminary planning. Over dessert we both called our parents and gave them the news.

In my opinion, it's not "how" you propose that matters, it's the emotion and sentiment within the proposal that counts. Best wishes, whatever you decide!

I don't know if I had a dream about this or I saw it somewhere but... Go to one of those gift shops where you get gifts for groomsmen and get two chrome plated plates. Ingrave on of the plates that says Name, will you marry me? Make a nice candle light spaghetti dinner and when she is finished with her dinner she will read the message. I always wanted to do that but I got my girlfriend pregnant, (while on aas) so I just went out and bought a ring and asked her to marry me. We are split up now but we have a wonderful 2 yr old daughter.

Vitor is on point...I proposed at the time of her birthday,Xmas, and our college graduation. That was three events I nailed with that ring...LMAO Seriosuly though, she always felt that her bday gets ignored becuase its 5 days before Xmas, so I took her out to eat. We ordered desert and when the desert came I pulled out a candle, put it in the tiramasu (sp?), lit it and told her to close her eyes, blow out the candle and make a wish...when she opened her eyes there was the ring on the table. We were the only ones in the restaurant, all the watresses were ooohing and aaahing, it went over well, and the chicken parmesan was great! Also, don't listen to all the bitter former married men, their situations sucked, shit happens. I find that when people have been together for a long time before marriage, they know who they are marrying, although my parents were together for 6 months before they got married and nearly 40 years later their still together..anyway, good luck.
