Awesome video man...My pit takes a nap with me every Saturday. He lays all over me, like a big baby. He is the most gentle dog we have ever owned.

Very true , people just don't relize that any animal can get over excited and cause great damage to a person if the occasion comes up , pits are just so strong for their size and their drive is so great that things happen faster when they get excited.

I have a male and female Jack Russel Terrorist and I will say that if they got anywhere near as big as a pit bull they would be deadly , luckly their kinda small but they will bite more often that a bigger dog.

The media will try to ruin this breed like it did with Rotts and Dobbies in the past

my brother has a pit and she is a big baby. The only thing you have to be careful about is if you are to close to her and start laughing a lot she will put her tongue down your throat

Very pretty dogs, but capable of inflicting alot of damage. They eat people sometimes don't they? Why do they have such a nasty rep? Oh ya, because they eat people.:s'ar-wars

They don't eat people nor are they close to the tops of the list of dogs that bite humans most often. They are very strong dongs with a huge "ball drive" meening that once they are set on getting to somthing they are SET on it and when those two are mixed you have a big problem when the animal does attack than say a minature poodel would cause.

I know a guy that has a femal Tiger and a male Jaguar (both fixed) , both of they are super sweet and very playfull but when you "playing " with an animal that out weighs you and is propably pound for pound 5 times stronger than you it doesen't feel much like playing !!

The dogs I fear the most are the ones that are abused or sheltered away from people cause they don't know what to expect from humans and that makes they unpredictable and with big strong power animales that can be dangerous , again comes back to poor quality owners.

Pits get a bad rap from shitty owners and bullshit media making them out to be monsters

I'm sure pit owners are well versed in the defenses vs. the mass media claims about pitbulls. Pit owners can say pits aren't #1 in attacks on humans in the USA, as they aren't. I doubt they make the top 10 list.
You can admit that pits are responsible for a large percentage of extremely horrific attacks. The thing pit owners don't want you to know is this. If as many people owned pits as they do german shepards, Pits would pwn every catagory for canine attacks and be outlawed most likely.
Pits are beautiful animals, but they are all dangerous. I work with a pit breeder, I have 40 years of background info on the breed. This breeder has sold fighting dogs and house pets for a long time. You should see this guys arms, covered with scars. I asked him about his scars when i first met him. He explained he's a pitbull terrier breeder. He says when they go apeshit, and he claims they all do at some time. He says you have to offer them your forearm, offer them your arm so you have time to figure a way out i.e. get a stick or get help. Having them chew on your arm is alot better than them going high on your torse or getting you on the ground, they instinctively go for your throat. Man I wish I could post pics of this guys arms, he says his brothers look worse, i can't imagine that.
My pit breeder says there's a huge difference in pits bred for fighting and those bred for pets. He also says the bloodline is so polluted in the usa rite now, that they are all dangerous.

i have to agree with u in a way, game bred pits are a different story than your everyday pits. while they're not nearly the man-biting monster u make them out to be they can be dangerous. your friend is an idiot, anyone who doesnt put down a dog who shows unprovoked aggression towards humans is an irresponsible breeder/owner! the way these dogs sometimes behave is our own fault, we've selectively bred them to be what they are today. <<again i'm talking game bred here not everyday pits. until the 60's and 70's even among game dog breeders "man-biters" were put down even if they were a good dog in the pit. for whatever reason this practice was set aside and it even became cool to have a human aggressive dog to some, still is actually.

i've owned up to 7 pits at once but now i'm down to 4. i've been around them for alot of years now. i've seen plenty of good dogs and plenty of bad ones, the trick is to avoid the bad ones. luckily most of them are on a chain somewhere in oklahoma and never leave the property lol.

FEVERISH.. you are talking about a guy who breed for fighting.. sure he may have sold to households but, that does not make the animal socialized.. if the guy sold them for fighting he breed them to be aggressive.. how else would he make money? cant sell docile dogs for pit fighting.. he bred for agressiveness.. i have had two pitts.. none have showed agression.. matter of afct.. they were bigger pussys than my english bulldog and boxer..

J001, I'm in Detroit. The dogs are huge here. There are alot of rings and alot of breeders here in and around the city. I know what I'm talking about. I'm sorry if you don't like what I have to say, just being honest.
Pits are beautifull dogs, but lets face it - there's no other dog that makes your neighbor with 2 little kids nervous as fuck that his neighbor has 3 pits. Is there another dog that so deservingly earns that reputation? Does anyone remember the maxim mag after catrina that showed the pits taking down the bull? How many dogs go feral and eat cows, talk about a badass breed!

if you own a pit and are NOT careful about every situation involving it you are a fool. period. my pit's name is tank, and i have posted his pics many times here on the board. he is a GREAT dog, but i would not be stupid enough to trust him in every situation possible. they have personalities, feelings, moods, ect. to think that he will never pose a threat to someone in his life is rediculous...so i keep a very close and loving eye on him. when i cant, he is in a 15' x 15' enclosed, locked pen that he cannot dig out of or jump over. for his safety and everyone elses.

on the other hand, dont judge a pit if you have never even been around one...not really fair to judge the breed based on one "breeder's" experiences with them...especially when that breeder is involved in some way with fighting them. (which if i were to judge him i would say he sounds like a fucking pussy)
