plantar fasciitis

i have been dealing with it for a few months. doing the stretching that is suggested helped. rolling a ball under the arch much like foam rolling. better arch support. and the cheap elastic arch supports i got online made a big difference in a very short time.

As already stated - if u have it, u know it. Getting out of bed in the morning and crying in pain sucks.

I used the following but just like tennis elbow it's a repetitive stress problem that only stopping the activity causing it will end it fast.

Roller under arch
Shoe inserts
Arch supports
Ice

You need to find a chiro who does ART or Graston. You need to release the fascia. Or get a lacrosse ball and roll the bottom of your foot, yes it will hurt like hell. Also you need to release the calves. The best way I've found is with a rolling pin. Lay on the bed, on your stomach with your feet hanging off the edge. Get someone to roll your calves. Seriously painful. Be careful not to roll to close to the knee cause theirs a lot of nerve bundles behind the knee.

Do this everyday and you will get relief, try this before you spend the cash on inserts.

Good luck

K, here's the deal with plantar fasciiitis as I have had it multiple times (I run a lot). There's some ways to manage it but I have some bad news for you, once you get it ( a lot of people do it isn't that big of a deal) then you're gonna have it forever; just probably off-on. A good product to get and use while you sleep especially is this: **broken link removed**

Insoles will help in managing the condition but you're bona want to look at Super Feet insoles if you don't want to get the custom made ones from the ortho. Another good thing to do is grab something called a Yoga Tune Up Ball: **broken link removed**. And use those to massage your feet out, the ice won't help much on the foot because its inflammation of a tendon and feet aren't exactly an area of super high circulation.

There are some workout you can do as well that are going to feel absolutely terrible but will help pseudo-strengthen the fascia. Toe scrunches with a towel, using your toes to grab a ball, just things of that nature. Feel free to PM me if you have any more detailed questions you'd like to ask.
