I saw this posted on another board I frequent, and figured I'd try it today. I get pretty bad elbow tendonitis and it interferes with my lifting alot ... The chiro fixes it in a few sessions but it comes back eventually with heavy training. Anyways I saw this, tried it today and it worked wonders. I just used my knee wraps instead of an inner tube. Check it out, it's apparently a trick developed by Donnie Thompson:

The reason it works is the extreme tightness. A therapist trying to do that lacks the hand strength necessary to dig into the muscles as much as the rubber does. Glad it worked for you!

That makes perfect sense. One of the main things about the chiropractor who I swear by now is he's a strong guy and can dig in so much more than anyone else I've ever visited and because of that does a much better job with soft tissue work than any other ... I mean I leave the place feeling a huge endorphin high from how painful a session is ... it's great ... fixes me in half the time. Thanks for the explanation.

I personally have had tendonitis bad at times sense I was a teenager. For the past 6 months I have been using McDavid elbow sleeves and I have not had a problem since. They keep your elbow nice and warm and prevents inflammation. Seems simple but it works. It would mainly affect my bench and now I finally have gotten pretty heavy on incline with a new pr of 385lbs. They truly saved me in the gym. I hated when they would get inflammed then I would have to hold off then almost start all over with lightweights. Also its very stretch and comfortable not rough material.

Interesting, I'll give this a go. BTW 2nd and 3rd vids not working

Thanks gonna try it out. I have horrible tendinitis and I started Physio and it works, but this tube is a good idea as well.

Can you do this without a partner?

Knees

Does anybody have a video for how to do this for patella tendonitis, not sure whether to do over and under the knee cap or to wrap tight directly onto the knee cap.

I quit lifting last year for about 3 months due to bad tendonitis in my wrist I tried acupuncture and believe it or not 2 sessions made it about 80% better I could not believe it but it worked. Def worth a try.

Only place I know of to get the voodoo bands is Rouge Fitness. I have a pair and they are invaluable.

Hmmmm interesting stuff as i have golfers elbow and have done for a while and it really hampers my training. I was wearing neoprene sleeves before it came on to and also while i have it. However, i found it better without the sleeves when training as the compression seemed to irritate it.
Going to give this ago though...but will have to try it on my own somehow. I wonder though....is this something you do before you head to the gym, or after, or at any given time to help the healing process and eliminate it as is suggested???

Just experimented with knee wraps wrapped tightly around my elbow....and i actually think this could work....have a strange sensation around the area now which i suspect is the blood flow and from what ive gleaned from the past, the blood flow generated brings in anti inflammatory healing properties to the area.

I had a form of acupuncture for this a few year ago for this, where they pap the needle in and then tap it some more to gently bounce it on the inflamed tendon. From what i understood it caused some blood flow which does as mentioned above. Was very effective and only had 2-3 sessions.

I've done it pre-training, during, and after. It's a kinda as needed type thing. I say I liked it pre-training the most. All the extra blood flow helped to warm up the area and it bothered me less during training.

I have terrible tricep/elbow tendonitis.

I started doing eccentric work on tri pushdowns and it has started to really help.

I'll use my hurt arm and hold a cable like im doing a tri pushdown but use my other arm to push it down then let go and slowly go back to the resting position with the injured arm. 12-15 reps with a decent amount of weight but not too much, your elbow willl be very sore the first few times but its the only thing Ive found to work. Wraps will work temporarily but not long term, you need good blood flow to the area.

Ive been advised on these in the past to by my Physio...but having the palms upward as in a reverse tricep pushdown

Some people considered that their muscle mass increases with the help of
protein supplements that contain certain blends of amino acids, such as creatine and glutamine....
