I already have a good enough weight room set up with a cage, dip bars, chains and everything I need. I've had a bad back for years though and free weight squats (both back and front) are just really starting to take their toll.
Obviously I need a hack squat, however they are reaally expensive, my other option was a powertec leverage squat which SEEMS to take the strain off your back as well, not to mention it also serves as a calf raise which would be a big plus. I've been looking at it... I'm not sure, but with a little creativity and a small bench I think it could also somehow be used as a seated shoulder press too (this is coming from a guy who made a 4-way neck machine out of a leg curl, a chain and a towel)
Anyone own one? By the foot positioning it seems to duplicate a hack squat somewhat, how does it compare?
I thought about just getting a WB-MS by powertec as a whole, I've seen it and love it, it seriously rivals hammer strength quality IMO, but there's still too many exercises that can't be done on it, not sure I could get a full workout on it. My back and other nagging injuries would thank me, but i'm not completely sold.
