I have heard some rumblings about companies starting to test for gear for jobs non-sports related. Have any of you heard or witnessed any of this?

What industry and what for what kinds of positions?

Times are changing.

If you test for the Phoenix Fire Dept, in huge bold letters it says on the first page of your application that they are testing for all anabolic steroids.

WOW, now that is in itself a very bold statement......I'm glad they have very deep pockets!!!

For general employment in most jobs other than some examples listed they will tesat for rec drugs only.
 
I have never heard of any company that tests for anything other that halluncenagines or opiates. Gear is very expensive to test for and most unions will not allow their employees to be tested with out it first being worded in a contract.

If for instance someone is prescribed HRT and of course test positive but is actually using more than HRT dosages, will they know this or do they just test for metabolites of AAS and not quantities of.
 
The only test I've seen given to police officers and fire fighter was a polygraph but that was after they were hired and the concern had risen.

I know that I certainly woulden't want some younger stronger more intense person comming to save my ass from a fire or mall shooting or some other dire situation:eek: WTF

What a fucking joke that they are testing these people for ASS ,in what way do they see it detrimental to their job performance , at least more than smoking or drinking !!!
As long as you do your job well , and ar not a high risk for dieing on the job from the ASS then it should be of no concern. I personaly fell that the requirements to be a law officer or fire fighter are WAY to leanient as far as the phyiscal conditioning aspect

Thanks for the vein guys. I have been thinking about this for a couple of weeks since NEEDFORSPEED posted a thread regarding a pre-employment AAS exam for "a job is in a refinery that produces fuels for military aircraft like the stealth".

I was just testing the waters to see if you guys were seeing any kind of corporate or industry backlash to the recent BS news stories on gear.

Yeah the only way you get tested in the military is if your commanding officer requests one. Its a long process and it has to be suspected. Usually the other cheek is turned unless you go around acting like a dumbass.
 
This company is a large pharmacutacal maker and it says in Bold print what they check for and steroids is one of them. I think they get peopel who don't believe it and apply anyways. After all all they can do is say no. You don't go to jail for it and can claim the test is not accurate etc. I worked for this place about 7 years ago and left to go into a familyu business that failed. I left on good terms so they are considering me heavily. In my records it says the dates I worked and that I am elegible to be rehired. When I left I lied and said how great the place was at the time (best job I ever had etc). Truth was my Manager (dead now) was a Jerk etc. If I had said that they would say: not elegigble to be rehired (they get the final laugh each time a future prospective employer checks your references. This is 100 % accurate as I have heard this from many people who don't know eachother there and my future Boss who I am friendly with saw the writing. I will let you guys know what is up with the drug retest. I have to take it in 1 more day.
