Would the other vets and mods agree that its time for an all out board cleansing?

There are countless useless threads and useless posters. Sactosd's last thread is just the latest that got me thinking. I went to getbig once to see what all the fuss was about and that was enough. Over the past couple of years, we have gotten an influx of the same types of morons. I understand that this is a business as much as it is a community, but seriously. There is ALOT of dead weight here. I go back as far as anyone and you guys know my posting has gone way down as has many of the old guard. There is a reason for that, and you guys know exactly what it is.

Another thing is the constant self promotion. There are guys here that NEVER contribute a fucking useful thing but use the board to promote their latest photo shoot, video, you name it. Im sick of that just as much. You are nothing but fucking leeches.

I love BIG A, and I think all our mods at the very least respect my opinion. So I dont know if its plausible or if its something you guys are willing to do, but my suggestion is put these newbies on some sort of probation. NO POSTING ALLOWED for whatever time frame unless they know a long time vet and that vet "sponsors" them. Maybe invite only, whatever it takes. And even then, if they contribute nothing but nonsense or become a problem there is no warning, they are gone.

A vet is not someone with 1000 posts in 6 months. Its the fucking guys that have put their time in and walked the walk. This is one man's opinion, but Im sure its shared by many. This is not a knock on BigA or the mods or what ProMuscle always was, OUR PLACE, but it is a knock on what is going on here now. Thoughts???

I think some change is needed. I just dont have any good ideas on how to carry it out. Ive only been on this board a little over 2 years but I have seen some changes since I joined. I started out years ago at elitefitness then went to anabolic review when that place went to hell. I later left AR to come here for refuge. I sure hope this place doesnt go down like the others I spent so much time at.

There are COUNTLESS great posts on here and the good ones are PAGES long (such as the recent one about magnum's training/diet).

If the goal is to return the board to how it was, start by showing people. I think we need some vet's and other members to start bumping some of the old threads from years ago.

It won't be a permanent fix but it will get people thinking in a different direction. I've always like the no posting for 30 days in the general forum after joining idea (but I have no idea how easy that is to implement).

damn bro are you a professional writer? you summed that up with a few well worded paragraphs. there are so many posts unrelated to bodybuilding, you really have to search thoroughly to find information. fortunately there are many knowledgable people here. i am 34 and worked out since i was 15, and i STILL learned a ton from this board over the past months. thanks to all who post useful info

But when a newbie calls out a mod, or talks shit about a vet (for sactosd to even mention Maverick negatively was more then enough for me, as was his trying to demean Sig) its like whats the point? Bald bro, you know i would walk through the gates of hell for those i consider real friends on this board and without asking you know your one of them.
I have NOTHING but respect for Big A. I also have nothing but respect for ALL the mods... yes Rajjin you to I have had my fair share of warnings here over the years but i always end up apologizing or what not. No one is perfect. Big A has done me a favor many times by just allowing me to stay here.
The one thing i have tried my best NOT to do is post whore this board. I agree with every word our Bald brother said.
Now i left this board for a couple years (still came to read occasionally) because of family problems ect. I now see alot of things have changed.
When i came back... i looked for my friends like Baldnazi among others. These guys are of the utmost respected in this community. They left on there own free will.... just because of the fucking kids and teenagers that roam this board every day. The know it alls.... cant tell them shit because they already been there, post whores. Also, sure i would love to advertise here. Right now i cant and because of my circumstances i probably wouldnt. I used to have my email address in my signature but Rajjin asked me to respect the rules (i didnt know that wasnt allowed) and remove it so i did. I do not expect free advertising and i have been here since Big A started this world we come to every day.Yet... just like Baldnazi said, it boils my blood when i see all the fuckers "sneaking" there "youtube" videos... or t-shirt adds on posts just to promote there face just incase some NPC judge sees it and throws them in the "known" category at there next show.

All in all i try to respect all the bros i have known here so long. The newbies get just as much respect as they give. The problem now is... every teenager and highschool student that gets an account here think they are automatically a fucking guru. Most of them just search google and post what they read as there own. I have seen that shit so many times.

Yes Rajjin...i have much respect for you like always. You do your job well...and i seem to blow my temper even better... but the one thing is, no matter what the REAL bros end up sticking together. Those REAL bros are far and rare nowadays. Im scared if this place keeps going like it is... all the REAL bros are going to stop posting just like Baldnazi decided to do. I miss his posts as much as anyones.
So, im game for what ever change that can happen to better this place.. and turn it back into the REAL board we watched grow since the 90s.
Maybe its up to US ... and not Big A. Maybe the REAL old timers can help Big A in some way as to make it easier on him.

I felt like I had to earn the trust of some of the respected members back in the heyday of the UG board and the Gade before I dared post a question. I was more or less shown the way by BLACK_KNIGHT who many vets will remember from those times. He was kind enough to introduce me to the UG where I met great guys like BaldNazi, Angus, Ragnarok, Ryroid, and so many others who helped me tremendously. I like the idea of being invited by earning respect first. Maybe this thread is overdue.

One thing I was toying with lately, and it will definetely be implemented immediately, is that when someone reaches 1,000 posts, they will not get KK status automatically anymore. Once a member qualifies for it, the mods will decide whether he is worthy of KK status or not.
That will weed out the post whores.

Regarding the ban on posts for 30 days for newbies, that will work only if the vets will be involved more. Right now, the newbies post more than anyone. I don't want to stop them from posting, and since the vets won't post either, the board will die.

i def. agree with the KK status, and also that the vets need to step to the forfront and get the ball rolling in the right direction! I made a couple of threads a while back to try and get the board focused on diet and training again and it was good for a while but the flame finally died out and now we are back to "my ass is itching threads" and useless bullshit. also a lot of simple threads could be eliminated if bro's would just use the fucking search button

Here, here mrmarcus. I had been on other boards, only to not find the information I wanted, or the right people. After training solid for 10 years, I lost 18 months due to personal issues. Now that Im a mere 6 weeks back into full time training, PM has been a savior to me. There is no way on Earth, I would step out of line or disrepsect any of the top members here. There's a major reason why those members are where they are at. It's called, knowledge, respect, and conducting yourself like a professional.

Thank you to all the members who have welcomed me, and to this day, I still feel like a huge shmoe for posting that stupid MMA fan thread. I give you my word, stuff like that, will NEVER come from me again.

I just thought id pipe in saying that altho i dont post much at all i read this board everyday.

I have aquired a hell of alot of info from you guys and have also just hired phil who i hope will help me make even more progress. the board is a good one but you will always get some people posting rubbish its traffick and unfortunatly it happens on all boards.

The only worrying thing is if it starts putting off some of you vets and more experienced guys from posting as we this would be a great shame and would mean lots of good info and experience going missing.

I would consider my self a total newb on here, been in the game for about 15 years but new here. I have tried to not make an ass of myself and for the most part think I have succeeded. When I thought I had something to contribute, making damn sure what I typed was right, I threw it out there. I like to think at the minimum I have not detracted from PM. Good post Baldnazi. It is in need of cleansing, but all you vets keep this board rolling and BIG A and the mods do thier best job to keep it clean...only so much man power. The vets/mods knowledge, experience, and perspective should be respected. I lurked for so many years just reading and finally decided to get more active on Promuscle because I know there are so many great members here. Shit, I look at it like this, if I have question I will post it and it ends of being a dumb question, you all will bust my balls for it...I do not mind that.

Keep it real everyone and not everyone has to agree with each other, just be a man about it.
