I know what has worked in the past but as I get older I look for more and more advantages. What techniques and or training "devices" did you use to increase your speed. Like I said, I just need alittle something different to keep the motivation up. Thanks for any info that you can come up with.

I have done alot of plyos in the past with great success. I have also done alot of hill running [ loaded and not ] I used to do some overspeed training as well . I trained agility like crazy , at times twice a day 6 days a week . From your posts it sounds like you are a player . What I mean by that is that you understand the game and have good instincts .It just seems like you weren't as blessed as some size and speed wise. But believe me bro , guys like you create alot of fear in the guys that you will be competing with . You rise the bar higher and don't make sily mistakes and you never take a play off. And given a chance you are going to smash into someone with some serious intent. It makes the gifted nervous , I used to see it . They will often hate on you , but don't get discouraged , you can rattle those guys.

As far as training goes let me know if you want me to design a program for you and I would be glad to help you all I can. Just PM with details on what you hope to accomplish and what position you decided to try out for. I still think inside LB is the way to go .Make sure not to over stretch , relax when you run [ most white guys run too tense] , and make sure your quads / hamies have the propper strength ratios. Make sure to be a true student of the game it will help see things much faster . When you tackle keep your head up and elbows in as well as your back arched . Explode through people ,but wrap up . [ pro scouts love that shit , and tackling is getting worse and worse evry year. so set your self apart] Walk with your toes sightly turned in , scouts look for this , because shows good balance. If you can get up to 245 with about 4.7 and very good agility . You will get some to give you notice definatly. Especialy if you play strong special teams and are one smart but mean bastard. Good Luck , if I can help you out in any way please let me know . It would be my pleasure . I love this shit . Now get out there and bast some fools and suprise some people . [ maybe even your self , go to war bro ]

Did you need anything else bro ?

I'm just looking for some new things that I may have forgotten about in my training to help keep me on my toes.

keep those hip flexors loose. I wish when I played I realized how important fleixibility is. Toward the end of my playing days in college I had a coach of mine from high school who was a pro RB helping me in my training, he gave me a great stretching routine which helped me feel more fluid while running. He went to a seminar at Northwestern and I was the experiment...it was a big help.

Badman...I find your toes pointing inward comment interesting. When I was a young kid I was riding on the back of my brothers ten speed. My foot was dangling down and hit the back of the pedal causing my foot to go into the spokes and gears. It got twisted very badly (couldn't walk for 3 weeks) and cut up. But the point is, my left foot has always pointed slightly inward because of that. The reason I bring it up is as a WR and RB my strength was always cutting and running precise routes. Having my foot pointed inward allowed me to cut off my foot, it came natural due to my injury. I never thought about it until now, I always thought it might have hurt my speed (although I ran a 4.5), but I guess not...just an interesting story for you.
