lately i've been having a problem with my quads cramping up on me. they do it when i am training them, but i thought this was normal for the most part. stretching usually relieves it. but they also cramp up when i am walking down stairs, or god forbid if i have to break out into a sprint. i was running aroung with my little nephew a few weeks ago and i had to stop because they were cramping so badly. tonight i had to cut my cardio short because i was getting bad cramps in my teardrops. me feet also cramp up alot.

this has me wondering if my diet is missing something. if have been on a pretty strict diet for the past two months, one that is very low in sodium. i eat pretty much the same thing every day:

6:30- 8 jumbo eggs (2 whole, 6 white)
1 cup oats (measured dry)
1 scoop protein powder
2 cups water
16 oz. sugar free juice

9:00- 8 oz. ground turkey breast
8 oz. sweet potato

11:30- 8 oz. chicken breast
8 oz. green beans with almonds and olive oil
6 oz. chick peas

2:00- 8 oz. ground turkey breast
8 oz. sweet potato

4:30- 7 oz. tuna
2 tbsp flax oil

6:30- train

8:00- PWO shake
1 scoop dextrose
2 scoops protein powder
2 cups water

9:00- 2 broiled chicken breasts
arugula spinach salad w/balsamic vineagrette
16. oz water

11:00- protein shake with BIG scoop natty pb

in addition ,i am drinking 1.5-2 gals water a day.

could i be missing something here? any help is appreciated, this is getting annoying- my feet are cramping as i type

Are you taking any supplements or ancillaries? You could also try adding in some low sodium V8 if you like the way it tastes. It's got a shitload of potassium. Don't be scared of a little extra sodium either.

start taking supplemental Calcium!!

just a small dose of test (250mg/wk) and tren 75mg eod. i have never gotten cramps from either one before...

i also take 3 grams of vitamin c a day and 400mg B6 a day as well.

i'll try addin some sodium in there... probably the V* like you said cause it has the potassium.

jbomb, why the calcium?

thanks for the replies

Provided there are no neurological or neurodegenerative causes such as multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, stroke, or spinal cord injury - extra calcium is usually the solution for muscle spasms or muscle cramps in many nocturnal cases. The extra requirements for calcium may be a result of high protein or phosphate levels (kidney disease, poor diet), hormonal diseases or balances, nutritional imbalances (high Mg/Ca ratio, low pantothenic acid), celiac disease or other intestinal conditions that interfere with calcium absorption, prescribed medications that promote calcium loss, random self- supplementation of the wrong vitamins and minerals, and others.

also add magnesium and taurine

thanks jbomb

i started supplementing with 1000mg calcium a day, 400mg magnesium, and 15mg zinc (it's a combo pill) and it completely knocked the cramps out.

PREESH!!!!!

TONIC water works great for leg cramps and you can get it any time of the night or at a bar for those who go to the bar after squat night.....I drink it after each leg workout and have not had leg cramps since. I use to get them so fing bad you could see each muscle head come to a T it was much pain
