question about leg growth

I need to know if doing deep squats (below parallel) and lighter weight will help my legs grow more than heavy weight and just going parallel??
I have been training for 15 years and competed power lifting for 8 of those. My legs are strong but have always lagged compared to my upper body. I have always squated with a wide stance and bar low on the back. My legs just dont grow like my upper body does. I only train legs once a week but always heavy.
 
Try this for 4 weeks - 6 x 25 of your favorite compound Quad exercise - Squats, Leg Presses, Hack Squats, Front Squats, Lunges whatever. 6 sets & you are done. Rotate back to heavy weight for the following 4 weeks and repeat.
I wouldn't go below parallel on squats - more force is transferred into the glute's parallel and below. I would hope you want big quads - not a big a$$.

probably the best advice you'd get right here!
 
I did the switch from my normal routine to 4 x 20 on squats, big difference. My legs burned for nearly 5 days after, every time. Obviously something was working differently.

Definitely can tell a difference in my leg development. I think I'll be doing high reps, low weights every other month.
 
I have to try that! Sounds like it works. I still need to bring my legs up alittle more so I need to shock it somehow!
