Chris I am not understanding this either.
YOU GOT A SECOND CHANCE!!!!
Dont you think Don Youngblood and Anthony D'arruzzio wish they had a second chance? They didnt get one.
Chris lets be honest here ok? Bodybuilding the modern day sport f*&%ing blows!
Hey lets diet down to rather unsafe bodyfat ranges using all these pharmaceuticals, heart effecting thermogenic drugs, and hormones.....and then at that point.....lets severely dehydrate ourselves and dance with the devil! Nevermind the carcinogenic tanning booth tanning we have to do the last 8 weeks.....all for the sake of winning a trophy and for the majority of the 98% competitors......no money at all or on the horizon! Awesome!!! Risk to benefit ratio of about 100 to 0!
Im all for goals in life and maybe competing when you are young and can maybe take some risks in your 20's for the shortterm thrill of it or at least if you can make some bigtime money and get the hell out. But jesus man, you just had a huge warning sign and you dont want to listen to the warning sign?!?!?!
Competing keeps you going? How bout living? That doesnt keep you going? What would you say to your wife if she just had a huge cardiac event and the doctor said to her "If you do some of the things you did before to get down below 10% bodyfat, theres a pretty good chance that you could have the cardiac event again".....Would you say "go for it it honey lets diet you down for a show!"
What do you think is going to happen if you get caught back up in this "competing" mindset? Do you really think you are going to try to do it with no dieting aids? That you arent going to try to push the envelope just a little bit to do well?
You want competition? How bout taking some steps toward it? A competition with yourself! Within parameters you set for yourself healthwise.
a) Get your heart down in size and get fit, healthy and back to square one
b) Make your competition to have your blood pressure always in check
c) Make your competition to be the most ripped up, lean, muscular bodyweight you can be within your own parameters that you will not go over
(150-200mg a week TRT or whatever).....thats your parameter that you can never exceed or whatever it is.
You want to impress someone? Everyone knows your story. Come in this forum in a year...put up your pics and show everyone "hey guys, look im 214 lbs and i just got dunktanked and Im 8% and I still can have 20 inch arms and Im just on 200mg TRT a week"
Every single guy in this forum will be more impressed with that than you going to the Team Universe and getting 8th and virtually everyong thinking "what the hell is that guy doing that to himself for....christ he could have died and he is trying to go thru bodybuilding extremes again?!?!?! Guy obviously thinks a trophy is better than actually living."
Hank Gathers got a warning Chris....he didnt end up heeding that warning....had a bad game in philadelphia from the medicine they had him on.....decided to cut back the medicine so he could go back to being Hank Gathers the all out manchild basketball player. You know the rest.......
and if you dont here is a refresher course....
