Rack deads????

Okay so to get straight to the point. When i do rack deads i can not pull as much wheight as i can on a full dead lift. Is this odd. Does anyone else experiance this? I don't max at i do 2 work sets one heavy in the 6-8 rep range and one a little lighter in the 10-12 rep range. What would be the cause. Is my deadlift week at the top range of motion? What can i do to help improve this? Should i just continue with rack deads an keep increasing the weight. Or am i just perfoming them wrong?

Where have you set the pins? I can handle far more in the rack than from the floor, which is usually the case for many.

I would say either certain area's of your back are weak OR your using your legs ALOT on floor deads. I would think its kinda like increasing your bench for a bench meet. You should continue to try and increase your strength on the rack deads while still alternating with floor deads week to week.

I set the pins right below my knee capps. Basically top of pin in line with bottom of kneww cap. Maybe it is the way i am built. I have really short legs, but my torso is really long. For example i'm 5"11.2555:) but i have an actual 30 inch in seam. Maybe that has something to do with it??????

AS you pull the bar off the pins drive hard with your hips at first and then pull through with your back and shoulders!! Just keep working it hard and your numbers will come up!!
