one word can sum up your paragraph... GOOGLE! Wiki would be another!

Of course research on the net will help you find the answers to most questions, but the lazy mans route is the forums, and some may not only want an answer but an elaboration on the topic, or discussion. A lazy question though isn't really acceptable when you can do a quick search to get your answer.
