I DON'T KNOW EVEN ONE PERSON IN MY LIFE THAT HAS EVER HAD SUCH A MALADY OR HAS EVER EVEN HEARD OF RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME.

NOW I HAVE HAD A FEW FRIENDS WHO STRAYED ON THEIR MATES- APPARENTLY THEY HAD 'RESTLESS PENIS SYNDROME'.

Not sure if it is a "real medical malady", but it is a real issue.
I suffer from it and it is fucked................actually gets really painful at times.

So it IS real?! I thought it was probably just bullshit. I lay down and my legs don't dance around. I am just out. I have lived this long and it's one of those things I'd never heard of until I saw the commercial on television advertising a drug that combats "Restless Leg Syndrome".

Well, at least you've shown me that someone who works out actually has it.

It sucks, they don't actually start jumping around initially they just start aching once you lay down and I think your body is just involuntarily trying to find a comfortable position for them.
It drives my girl crazy also, but there is nothing so far that I have found to help any.
Just a pain in the ass to live with.

Hahahaha... I couldn't believe it either until I was never able to get a good night sleep next to Simone. She is on Requip now and it works well. It was either that or I was gonna clock her with a mallet. Mutha fugger was like a dead body with a twitch at night. I timed it so it was almost 1.5 minutes between each sweep of her foot. I was like "WTF is going on with this woman?" LMFAO... she had no idea she was doing it, but it was driving me insane.

It is real alright

I have had it for years. It is a involuntary twitch in your leg, sometimes left, sometimes right. anoying as hell especially to your bedmate. Must be Nurelogical because the medication to relieve it is Requip, which is used for Parkinsons disease. It aint no joke though.

i had it and didnt even know it as a result of my sleep apnea. when they did my sleep study they said my legs were going nuts. they also told me they were suprised i didnt have any leg problems as my brain was sucking the oxygen away from them since i wasnt breathing and carbon dioxide was pooling.

See.....I learned something today!

When I was in high school I'd get leg aches at night when I tried to sleep. My dad called it "growning pains". I never did twitch or anything like that though and it did go away once I quit growing.

But, you guys have educated me today. Now I can quit making stupid jokes every time that commercial comes on!

I get it when I take the muscle relaxer flexerall, cannot relax at all, and I feel as if maybe I should get up and run to exhaust them or something. Just damn annoying..

It is almost on par with parkinson's. But it usually only manifests itself at night during deep sleep. It can be quite serious and very violent for some, And no I was not referring to you Kaiser........... but they have come up with meds for it so it calms down and everyone gets to get some decent sleep.

Yup its real alright. I had an ex g/f's mom who had it bad and got on meds. She would have terrible leg cramps and was always having difficulty walking. When she was finally diagnosed with RLS, and prescribed the correct mg. of medicine, she made great strides in walking to actually walking for fun. It is a neurological based disease where the nervous system that operates the legs just doesnt shut down at rest, kinda like Parkinsons. It can lead to paralysis and even amputation in severe cases.

No that's called sticky boot syndrome!! and Parenteritis! It will lead to a more serious problem for the child.......callled ruptured anus syndrome!! and then complications set in like Hearing loss and speach impairment. You know this happens because every sentence or question asked is followed with a "HUH"??

RLS is miserable.I had it for most of my life until a few years ago.Found a wonderful family doctor who is also an endocrinologist and takes refresher courses all the time to keep up with all the various immune disorders that exist today.She prescribed me klonopin,which completely alleviated mine.

I didnt read the thread but you bet its real, and a very common symptom in the withdraw from opioids. It causes a lack of sleep you wouldnt believe. It is the most uncomfortable physical withdraw symptom (I am told). It really sucks (I am told) and is very real (I am told). I know a xanax or valum would put it to rest (from all the documentation I have read about such physical symptoms) but it seems to me it would go against the theory of going "cold turkey" and only compound problems.

...all seriousness JT it sucks so bad and I havent sleeped more than a few hours and only during the day. In my case it will go away. It has gotten better from night to night but no sleep. I try to "ZEN" it away but its hard.
