What's your favorite song that is "outside" and never a listen in the gym?

This is for nostalgia, for memory. A music/song that doesn't translate to bodybuilding but when you hear it......man, I love this one
Maybe this is just for music attached to time, place, or a person.

First off
Under my Thumb - I was a fat, new teenager on a road trip to Big Bend with my Dad. I was complaining about my thighs getting burned in the windshield of his Toyota pickup(that had holes through the floor, Flindstones like) In a moment of frustration, he stopped, said this was the best Rock'nRoll song, threw a bag of trail mix at me. I didn't complain again(until I fel down a gorge and fat boy had to be saved)

I don't personally have a favorite outside the gym, if I find a new song I like or come across an old one. I save it for the gym.

Anything from Down's debut album 'NOLA' - probably the greatest Southern metal album ever.

And Pantera's cover of 'Planet Caravan' - I can't count the hours I've spent stoned listening to it.
Their version of Electric Funeral is great, too.

I'd be real surprised if anybody here knows Prince Far I...

Anything Garth Brooks
Zombie
Stay in the truck
The gambler
Life's a dance
23
Fast car
Why can't you feel it

Better together
Sex and candy
Colder weather
Slept so long (badass remember hearing this for the first time music a goth stripper out on)
Do not disturb
What it's like
Lowlife
Not mad enough
And one rap...still tipping

besides deriving energy or a vibe from a song fueling a workout intensity we desire etc, why would we separate gym music from normal music? at 36 I listen to music DIRECTLY TO AFFECT MY MOOD

sometimes I will blast this in the hood, sometimes I will blast this in gym on headphones, depends on my mood and desire of intent, I use music as a metaprogramming tool

at 36 i hardly bump the same gangster evil shit I like during workouts, or gangster rap outside the gym

at home unless I am dosing Keta I'm pretty reserved and in public. when I microdose I catch myself blissed out, engulfed in music so much more, sometimes I will even send a green day song to @slesh I'm feeling myself so much lol

most of the time I'm a quiet hermit and loud noises aggravate my ptsd, but I sure AF love a great concert, just don't do well in crowds without being medicated on k. MMJ at this age and longtime usage only helps me relax a lil, sleep a lil better, and eat a lil better. It relaxes my CNS. Other than that I find it obsolete to K

Ive cranked out sets recently to Down and Down 2. Some of that shit is fire for the gym. Dog tired? Hail the leaf? Love that stuff.

If someone like tapped into my AirPods and listened to the shit I was listening at the gym I'm not even sure what they would think 🤣

Metallica to George Michael to Tupac to Madonna to Bee Gees to Sinatra to Motley Crue to Michael Jackson to daddy yankee to journey to big Tymers to prince to bob seger to foreigner to white snake to Gloria Estefan to Elvis etc etc....I'm a disaster

In 2010-2011 I dated a girl who was getting her master's at Stephen F. Austin University in Huntsville. I'd put on NOLA as I was leaving Dallas and by the time I was driving through campus the last song on Down III was playing. Great memories driving through the country jamming Down!

Same here. Just ledt gym listening to waylon jennings now some easy listening 70s Mello gold. Pantera later when I get back in gym

Old country, 70-80s smooth jazz (Chuck Mangione etc), Elvis, Sinatra or Louie Prima, Christopher Cross, normal jazz, big band (WWII era shit), Motown classic etc...

Though I did just queue up Smoke Robinson and some Marvin Gaye in the gym the other day.

I love Social Distortion's cover of under my thumb. I like Billy Witers blues as well. Not gym music.

I have a lot of music that is for the gym and a lot outside of the gym.

I also have music to fuck to (some of that is played as gym music too.)

Always been a big Nirvana fan but don't listen to them much when working out

Lake of fire does not fire me up for some squats 😅

London Calling Clash
Surrender Cheap Trick

Hotel California- Eagles
IMO possibly one of the best songs ever written

Lauren Hill, Nothing else matters❤️
Marvin Gaye, Inner City Blues❤️
both are personally special to me.
