I never used a safety bar, yet I highly recommend the Frank Zane Leg Blaster at the end of your traditional squats.

I have the one from New York barbell its a really good bar for the money. It works the hell out of your back while your squatting.
 
Purchased mine from Elite Fitness. I love it! After lifting heavy on upper body day it is nice to give those shoulders a rest! But warning your core will be screwed for a few days! Just know your core will get stronger which leads to a bigger dead and squat!!!! You won't regret it. It is also great for people with shoulder injuries. ;)

I find it funny that the Mr. Olympia with the worst legs out of the bunch is selling a leg "blaster". Great bodybuilder, but the irony of it all.

Agreed he does have a little bit of mass but at the same time he looks sickly. Yet I still like the leg blaster tho
 
GIve the poor bastard a break! Christ, he's got to be well into his 60's in that pic. Don't know about you but I wouldn't mind looking like he does at his age.
 
I just got one from new York barbell, and I love it. Much easier on the shoulders, and maybe it's just me but I feel like it keeps your form a lot better when squatting heavy.

Zanes legs were always like batons.I remember an interview with him saying it took him an hour to eat 4-5 shrimp. Yeah and he looked like it too!

It doesn't let you have your arms free like the safety squat bar does, but it takes alot of pressure off your neck and shoulders.

Look retarded honestly and you can do the same thing with SSB bar while holding onto the rack. It's known as a Hatfield squat developed by the great Fred "Dr. Squat" Hatfield.

I vote for the EFS SSB bar.

I have the one from New York barbell its a really good bar for the money. It works the hell out of your back while your squatting.

At my gym we have an EFS bar and a NYBB bar. Honestly the NYBB bar sucks. On the NYBB bar there is no angle difference between the yoke and the dip in the bar. Due to this it feels like it's trying to rip your head off if you use any back at all when you squat. If you're a very very upright squatter it's fine but most people aren't also the construction quality seemed a good but lower than the EFS bar.

ehh...the bar shouldn't be up on your traps either unless you're doing olympic squats....
