I am converting an unused spare bedroom in my house into a posing room.

Has anyone done anything similar to this? I am curious to know how you may have set it up, how lighting was done and if anyone has any pictures even better.

I have some ideas as to how I want to set it up, high placed angled mirrors behind me etc. etc. but I figured other people on the forum have had to have done something similar.

Thanks in advance.

First thing to do is put mirrors around the room so You can see from all angles. I used to have a mirror on a stand that I could move around to catch reflections off the big mirrors on the walls. Then you will need two to three good strong spotlights to focus on the center of the floor where you have the best angle. They need to be overhead but directly, maybe about 30 degrees off center. Then it is a matter of adjusting the angles to suit.

I think you are better off getting a huge hd screen, a couple of awesome couches or humongous chairs, join a movie site or set up a killer blu ray with surround, wifi, put a bar on the wall, fridge etc..
and have a good time in your house/entertain etc
you dont need a whole room
pose on stage.
practice without a mirror with someone watching you to tell you how to tweak and adjust. remember no mirrors on stage for feedback
not being rude, but i have never heard anyone take posing to that extreme

If you do this I hope you become one hell of a poser and I hope to see you at guest spots all over.

with a whole room to practice, we could prob all learn alot from you after you set it up

Well if you are going to I would setup the mirrors around the room where you can see yourself at all angles as well as your lighting is one of the most important things needs to aim at a angle that goes down your body so there will be no shadows.Kind of in front of you where it is blinding you pretty good lol Hope that helps

The thread title is kind of misleading. I just want a room to set mirrors up on a certain way. Therefore making it a posing room. It would not be a room 100% dedicated to that. Just wanted opinions on how to set mirrors up or if anyone has previously done it.

Every room in my house is a "posing room".

Don't forget the striper pole in the middle

Many years ago a gym in my hometown had a posing room. I think they converted an old storage room. It had mirrors all over, all kinds of angles....and lighting to mimic stage lighting. It was really cool. Has anyone seen this anywhere else?

I have. One of the Bb gyms I have been to had a really cool one. Every mirror was on a swivel and there were lights everywhere. You could see any angle you wanted under any lighting condition. Not realistic for home use but was badass nonetheless.

I remember seeing one of these in a "hard core" gym in Tempe, Arizona in the 80's. I remember Vince Comerford was using it at the time.
