so our man nick chubb from the browns squatted 610 twice with a tsunami bar....what is that and why would you use one? looks way harder to do and maybe thats why yall use them?

I hate tsunami bars… because they work lol.

It effectively changed the weight from stiff to limp.

For example, I can pick up a 155 lb barbell like it’s a toy, but it’s measurably harder to pick my wife up off the couch and carry her up bed when she’s asleep - said weight.

Athletes love this shit

Much more stabilization required. Squatting with a tsunami bar, bandbell bamboo bar, giant cambered bar or Hatfield SSQ bar are all extremely humbling.

I’ve never tried a tsunami bar but might buy one now..I have a whole barn full of bars for different shit.

Right now I’ve discovered the SSyoke bar (elitefts safety squat) is great after deadlifts..murders the hams

If you don't feel like shelling out the cash, you could try hanging kettlebells (DBs, or plates would work too, although KBs work best) from a bands or something like Spud straps. You will get some serious stabilization work in. I'm not going to say it's the same as using the Tsunami one because I've never used one and two because w/Tsunami, the bar itself is unstable where as what I'm talking about the bar remains stiff and moves more from side to side with the KBs swinging around. With the hanging KBs on the straight bar, the faster you move the bar the more you're going to get banged around by the swinging. Plenty of vids around if you want to see what I'm talking about.

Never tried the Tsunami bar, but I fell in love with my Kabuki Transformer bar. That’s all I’ll ever use from here on out for squats.
