string of bad luck

fella's whats up, i haven't been too active on the boards lately but still read them damn near every day to keep in the loop with everyone.

just been a bit bummed out the past few weeks and figured you guys would help lift my spriits.. i have to say after reading overdrives post about the loss of his home, it makes me appreciate what i do have.

anyways the negative doesnt seem to stop coming my way. first off got side swiped three weeks ago, its my first brand new car, 350z, its not a 100k car or anything but i take very good care of it and i just dont feel the same about the car after its been wrecked. its almost like some dude banging your girls, just tarnishes it. i rationalized its only a car and no one was hurt. the girls insurance paid to get it fixed, all is well. well not really, got it back from the body shop and they COMPLETELY screwed up the repairs, fenders out of whack, horrible blend in paint, etc. no big deal im going to take it to another shop and have it fixed right.

this saturday nigth some friends and i go out. i was getting ready to park and my friend behind me flicked his light because he had some parking lot he uses... so we park there, come out, no cars. all three got towed.. 440 dollars to get it out of impound, ridiculous, 1320 for all three of our cars

today i get to work - email from CEO- 'due to the economic downturn, blah blah blah, CUT BACKS, PEOPLE GETTING LAID OFF... So rumor has it, 250 people in our IT group are getting laid off tomorrow.. my stomach has been in knots all day.. remember i was going to vegas over halloween? can't do it now because of the possible lay off and 440$ towing fee.


am i just being a whiney ass or do i deserve this rant? lol

Ouch Got Juice! Man! You deserve a good rant bro! I hope you don't get laid off! At least the IT field is in pretty good demand? Damn, they say bad stuff comes in 3's. It only gets better from here! Hang in there. It will get better.

A wise man once told me to look at each problem in your life as a seed of opportunity. Thats the only way to stay positive sometimes. I can see some positive opportunities in each of these crises. Seriously, you have to look at the glass as being half full.

good news, looks like im going to be working for a little wihle longer... they laid off 200 roughly and said they dont have 'plans' for further lay offs, unless the economy worsens.

i think you are right about the seed of opportunity, i try and think that way and feel it helps..

I feel you on this. I am in IT myself and thought we would be spared from the 10% paycut across the board. Silly me..... and if things don't get any better in 6 months, 10% corporate head cut....

thanks guys - yeah raj tell me about it!!! i heard state farm might actually cover the tow charges even though it was for illegal parking, im keeping my fingers crossed!
