Sweat smells like ammonia???!!!

So I am doing cardio at the gym this morning, just walking at incline of 7 for 60 min. and I notice this strong ammonia smell, then I realize it is me!!! WTF! Anyone have any idea why I would smell like ammonia? my sweat anyway.

Might be your clothes. After a while, they'll get that way once they're saturated with sweat again. If you were wearing anything (particularly a shirt) that you've used many times, it could be the problem. Washing won't do much at this point. Might try soaking in baking soda to change the ph.

Normal for me on high aas dose. especially tren.. I would sweat at night so much and smells pretty bad.. My wife hates it

THis, its definitely your clothes bro. If you throw a sweaty shirt in the hamper and let it dry with sweat on it over time it will start to smell like that.

I read on here where a guy had the same problem and it started after he was using peps. Anyways, I'm glad you posted this as I experience the same thing! My wife can't stand it and frankly neither can I

This is true, ammonia is from the breakdown of protein, however it is your kidney's that should be processing it, when you break down SO MUCH protein that your kidney's can't process it all (or the kidney's are compromised) then the skin takes the excess...

For me it's tren suspension and testosterone suspension. When i was on tren suspension....i would leave the gym early because i felt i smelled so bad.

On a bit of tren this summer and we were at a party at night. It was still about 90 degrees out. I had just put on a shirt that was just washed, and my friend just got a new Cigarette boat. I was down under the cap looking at his twin 1075 horse engines, and it was a bit warm down there, and I started to sweat a bit. It smelled so bad like instantly that my wife made me take the shirt off and we threw it away. I stunk the rest of the night too.

The clothes can be fixed by tossing them in the wash, letting the machine fill with water, and adding 1 cup of household ammonia (ironic, huh?) and stopping the wash cycle for an hour. After an hour, resume wash cycle normally.

I think the protein sweats get into the fibers of the clothing and regular detergent won't kill it. You put on a "clean" shirt, sweat a bit, and immediately stink like a sour dishcloth.

Could be just your clothes. One way to be sure wear a brand new shirt. If you still smell it than it is something else. My sweat smells like that. Dr told me it's excess protien. It tends to be stonger when I use a pre-workout creatine/amino drink. I have to rinse out my clothes at the gym so they don't stink my truck up. I work out early in the day.

sounds like your shirts. Some dyes in shirts stink like that when they get wet

Excess protein...try cutting back a bit.

Yeah...I've found that recently...recurring whenever I wear one of my shirts. In that case, it must be tied to that shirt...and not tied to protein intake (or I would expect it to occur with the other shirts, as well).

You are right! It is my shirts that smell, I walked in my room today and it smells like ammonia, because my sweaty shirt was in my laundry. All my shirts I wear to gym are smelly like this. That was a great comment about putting on "clean"shirt then sweating and it turns into sour dishcloth! That is just what it smells like.

j-hawk -- what is your carb intake like? This happens to me when I go on keto diets, or even lower-carb diets but do a lot of cardio. Goes back to the protein breakdown thing mentioned above.

Try drinking more water.
