In light of a few threads on this board, I thought we might compile a list of short things we have learned through experience that we believe to be true and helpful to others. As the thread grows I will try to recompile it in a list and perhaps make a poll out of them to see which ones need to remain and which ones need to be removed. This can be training, life related, etc. Preferably one or two lines. I'll start with a couple:

* Its diet, recovery, training, supplements, in that exact order.

*Clothing: Fewer higher quality pieces is better than more cheaper pieces.

* The guy running his mouth is not the guy to worry about. Its the quiet one.

* Its not a goal until you write it down.

* You would not care as much what others think of you if you knew how little they think of you.

* Two ears, one mouth. Listen.

* Don't let people rent space in your head by harboring negative thoughts of them. They will foul the space.

* If you can count your true friends on more than two hands you need a better definition of "friends".

* Where you start does not determine where you can go.

* From Steele: Gaining weight doesn't mean you are gaining muscle

*From Steele: Better to diet too long and be ready 4 weeks out than not long enough and be behind 4 weeks out.

*From Irish sd: Truthful words stand the test of time, but lies are soon exposed.

more is not necessarily better, in training volume/weight or amount of gear used
 
we all had to start somewhere........be patient!!!!!

Nah I think training goes before recovery, just think of all the people who sleep well and eat good, if we are speaking bodybuilding, they don't look fit just small or thin. I know a lot of college guys for example that party train and study like crazy only getting a few hours of sleep a night, and they still have decent builds. You WILL benefit from training if you don't rest, just not even close to the same degree.

Also I all those things you list are the "Physicals" I group Physicals as one when I look at whats most important. I feel that your Mind and your emotions are a bigger factor then your physical, the first 2 control the physicals.

-You are in the driver seat when you play this game.
-consistency is the secret of the pro's. (except Kevon Levrone?)
-Don't try to make gear your basement, create and email and forum Handle, and start try to start a business, unless your in a position of willingness to accept some jail time.

Thanks for Asking Dad. On the major test the give me now my ejection fraction is now 50 to 55 with "normal" being 60. I am offically out of heart failure at the current time and off restriction but still on medication.

I have been training lightly and doing 45 min cardio 5 days a week. I have only been getting me heart rate up to about 125. I played squash for 20 min Saturday and was absolutely sucking wind so I am going to raise my max heart rate up to 135 for the next month and then 145 the next if there are no issues.


I consider myself very lucky.

seriously though one of the most important things ive learned from this board is that when it comes to gear, more is not better.
 
Food.......The most important aspect of Bodybuilding.
 
the most anabolic supplement you can take, is your diet.
 
Have a good off season ..... 3 hours of cardio a day sux!
