I have some Cissus powder on the way and was planning on using around 1000mg per day to start.
On Friday, I attempted to crank out 2 "extra" reps on rack deads--even after my form had broken down. I tweaked my lower back and could barely hobble out of the gym (just the day before I was telling someone never to push things on deads or squats when form starts to go, so I feel pretty stupid).
My original intention with the Cissus was to see how it worked on a right shoulder that's been under the knife a couple times, but since Cissus has analgesic properties maybe I should double the dose to 2000mg/day for a week or so. The lower back has started feeling better, but I'm still debating going to the doctor to rule out any tear or hernia.
For those who've used Cissus, what amounts were you using? Massive G, Dante-- or anyone else who wants to chime in I'll be using the 5% extract from TP--- I've seen it other places at 10% as well.
btw-- Thanks to Massive G for the Bromelain info. I've always liked good fats to help with joint pain (and other good health effects)---Hemp oil has been great for me--- but adding Bromelain has helped even further. Actually, my sinuses feel better on Bromelain as well (I may add quercetin at some point to go along with the Bromelain)
