Got my bloodwork physical, my total testosterone was at 304, that's not any good!

Early 40's and suffering from low T, however, do to a surgery I won't be able to do much at this present time. Have to wail till I fully recover. Will low T have an affect on healing time, recovery etc?

What would be optimal levels? How much T would be sufficient to raise the levels up, etc?

Lately my stamina, energy, sexual desire and a host of other things been lacking :( need to remedy this and be consistent... If my Dr doesn't assist me I will have no other choice by to go UG...

I feel your pain. I have had issues getting my wife pregnant so we went down the IVF path, now in mid first trimester. But during the whole process I had numerous blood tests, one being for testosterone.and my test come back at 239  Been off completely since January. BTW I'm nearly 33
So now my wife is getting further along the path to 12 weeks I thought I would go to the docs and start the process of sorting myself out. I showed him the results and told him I'm happy to get tested again if he needs and he then went on to say "your wife is pregnant now, why are you worried about your test levels"
What a joke, so I feel your pain. Doctors sometimes are clueless.

What an idiotic doctor! Seriously that was/is an ignorant statement. People lose their marriages, significant other because their not performing in the bedroom or are too tired/depleted and at times depressed because of low hormone levels.

I would of responded w a nice comment, like "go F yourself Doc" then I would of proceeded to explain common sense. Also, advise him that if you lose your significant other or wife because he refused to help help you that you will take him to court for medical malpractice and a refusal to assist you. What a POS! Smh

Man it was so hard not to tell him where to go. I wasnt happy. I just didnt want to fly off the handle and give him a reason to not assist. I have looked up my test range and it is lower than the average test of a male in the 85-100 year old category.
I have shit sex drive, lack of energy, massive loss of muscle and strength. I used to bench 150kgs, now Im lucky to bench 80. Pretty depressing!!!!
I am going in for another blood test tomorrow morning which shouldnt be much different to the previous. If he doesnt help me Ill be sure to go elsewhere.
I so want to self medicate but Im trying to do things the right way.

If you are not interested in shopping for another dr just simply ask your dr for a referral to see an endocrinologist

Thats my plan. Im letting him do the blood test and if he doesnt do anything with it Im going to ask for a referral to an Endo or ask if he knows any other Drs that specialise in it

It's fairly common to have to do that. Not all reg doctors are comfortable administering trt

Dumb Question?

What should be the "normal" range of testosterone for a given individual of the age of...25?

Google your question, the answers is right in front of you.. At 25 you should be at "peak" levels unless of course you suffer from a medical condition or abused AAS...

Thanks for the information. I just recently underwent a borage of blood tests last moth just to see how everything is and the result for the test level was at around 375. Doc said it is the normal range for someone my age. But I suspect he might have an agenda seeing that the Doc is a friend of my pops. Everything I am researching is saying it is low but I feel fine. I am having incredible workouts, never feel irregular fatigue, eating good. Basically not seeing any signs that my T levels are low. Any comments/recommendations? Thank you in advance.

Yeah its unfortunate to have levels at that age. His age is probably the reason why the Dr doesnt want to prescribe.

Exactly what I was thinking.. Possibly he abused AAS and didn't know what he was doing causing for his body to spot producing normal testosterone levels. 25 is way too young not to be at peak levels..

So my second blood test come back and my test is even lower than the last one back in April. It was at 237 and now it's at 213, aged nearly 33.
My doctor then went on to say that it is a little low but nothing to be stressed over. Lol is he kidding!!!!!
I said to him that its nothing to stress over if I was 90.

But on a positive note after my comment he did give me a referral to an Endo, so hopefully they are willing to assist.
Fingers crossed

Feel your pain bro. I was down that road 27 and my level was at 299. Doc told me everything is good just a little low. I then told the doc i understand the reason why u say that. there is no set test level for age range but come on doc we all know that at 27 my levels should not be that low. Come on i have not done it with the old lady in over 4 months. and my levels have been this way for a year now. I then got 100mg a week.. in the end i went and got my own and take 300mg a week and get my own blood work done. docs would never understand.
