I have been having problems with low sex drive and have been feeling tired and lethargic so went to see the doctor and asked for blood tests.

Now i just went to get the results and everything is fine apart from my testosterone is low at 6.2 (average range is between 9-27) he has refered me to see an endocrinologist. My question is, with testosterone this low am i likely to be prescribed TRT even though I am so young?

I have only ever done 2-3 average looking cycles (max 12 weeks) and conducted proper PCT etc. I have been off AAS for approximately 12+ months

Any advice/views welcome

Depends on the Endo you see & what he believes is the best protocol.Id hate to see someone your age on TRT now, unless your doc has exhausted the modalities that are at his disposal. Also,if its within your means, get a second & possibly third opinion.

What sort of protocols do they use to sort out your testosterone level without TRT?

I used to be prescribed Growth Hormone as I was deficient in that from an early age, would this have any effect on low testosterone?

What I was refering to is the use of HCG & Clomid .There are many applications, though often recovery takes a fair amount of time.

im hoping for the best for you bro. im 22 also and have done 3 proper cycles with pct. i couldnt see why your levels would be low right now, what was your pct protocols

Its been so long time but generally I would taper Nolva and Clomid for 3 weeks

Nolva 40/30/20 Clomid 100/50/50

HCG during cycle

A lot of guys have bad luck with endos. Look into urologists. Better yet, look real hard for docs in your area (regardless of their specialty) that specialize and/or have a lot of experience with HRT. Make a lot of phone calls to the doctor's offices and ask how many patients they treat, how they treat them, if they use HCG and an AI like anastrozole, etc. It'll save you time and money in the long run.

Good luck!

It could be, perhaps. I believe that the hypothalimus is what releases the hormones that stimulate both GH release and LH. LH is what stimulates the testes to produce testosterone. I do not think you will have any problems getting a script once they verify your levels being low like that over a period of time.
With me, the tested and retested me over a period of 7 months before they wrote the script. I told them though that I had been on steroids within the past month, so maybe they waited longer for me. Since youve not used in 1 year, I wouldnt even tell them that you used. Ive never heard of anyone being supressed that long, but I guess its possible. Just be patient. You will get a good idea of what the endo is like with your first meeting.
Come right out and be straight forward. Tell him/her that you feel miserable and that you just want to feel normal. Ask if they have a problem with prescribing HRT to someone your age and see what they say. The doc will tell you their opinon, and then you wont be wasting 6 months of your life with a doc that never had any intentions of helping you.
Im not sure what your numbers mean. Im used to numbers being between say 400-800. Im at 860 now which is high normal. Im only 39 yrs old and my doc had no problems helping me, even though I had done steroids for over 10 years. I told her that. I would expect an HRT dose to be between 100-150 mg/wk. THey will want to put you on 200 mg/2 weeks, but ask to do it once a week because of the half life. My doc had no problems with that. Of course, make sure you get the injectable and not cream. Injectable is best from what I understand, although ive never tried the cream. My doc asked me what I wanted and I told her injection. If you act educated about it and mature, the doctor will involve you in the process so much more. Take an active part in the process.

My endo was very good. I think its all luck. I would not rule out endos. As far as using HCG and AIs, I dont really see the need to prescribe those. I had a long talk with my endo about that, and my others docs and they all agreed with me. Why use HCG to stimulate the testes to produce test when youre taking exogenous test? It is redundant. Last week someone on here that was prescribed that by his doc posted up how his test level was something ludicrous like 4000. Much easier and more simple to just use the test. Even that HRT doc everyone always quotes said that the only reason to use the HCG was to keep the size of the testicles from shrinking. If youre worried about how that looks, than yeah its a cosmetic issue.
If your test levels are normal when youre on the HRT then there is no reason to use an AI. Now if youre going to supraphysiologic levels then your estrogen is going to be higher since your test is higher, but HRT wont take you that high.

Thank you for the detailed feedback. My doctor knows I research hormones and possible problems and as i went in and asked for a hormone test he didn't even question it. My last cycle wasn't even a hard cycle, prop and mast for a short period so there definetly are underlying problems somewhere. I guess I will just have to wait and see what the endo says. Sorry about the figures, he showed me on the computer screen, I should of asked him if he could print off the figures. Im not worried about going on TRT, not at all. I've overcome a lot worse in my life already  so having to injection test wouldn't bother me. It would be interesting to see what their outlook is on a person of my age, I can't really see any sort of PCT involving Clomid and HCG doing much at all to be honest as all other values in the blood test were perfect.

Email Mr. Freeman, he can set you up with some more adquate HRT.

I know how you feel man, it sucks. I was put on HRT when I was 21. My total test was a 46. Doctor thought he was coming to see an 80 year old woman. But HRT is the best thing that they could have done for me. They have tried taking me off by lowering my dose, but all that happened was my level would drop. So i stay on HRT.

That range sounds like free testosterone. I'm 57 and my Free Testosterone tested in the toilet at 1.8 with an expected range of 7.2 - 24 for my age range.
6.2 is pretty much in the toilet for a 22 year old where the expected range is 9 - 27.

Go to an endocrinologist, you probably have a genetic condition or hormonal imbalance.

Not to say that doctors are not valid and this is not good advice.

However, I've had these issues as well and I've found the endos and urologists that I'ved talked to be extremely uneducated on these matters. I felt as if I was the teacher and they were the student. Most of the people going to these people have thyroid issues, they give them blood work, and prescribe a medication. Or something along those lines.

I've had discussions with them and it is like talking hormones 101. They are not familiar people whose endocrine systems are messed up due to steroids. Their answer is always, "lets just give it time and see what happens."

They will give you blood work. see where your test levels are at. Look at your LH, FSH, cortisol, etc. They will say, "YEP, You have low testosterone or 100ng/dl is just fine".

I've tried to discuss different HCG, AI/AEs protocols that I've researched and they just stare at me as if this is the first time they've heard of such things. I try to discuss natural supplements such as Tribulus, ZMA, anti-arom products such as Gasparis' Novedex XT, Gammo-O. and they have no clue what you are talking about.

I would recomend trying to find a specialist online. Some one who deals specifically with people who have used AAS. Perhaps DR. Swale or Patino from Renami. From my personal experience, finding a local doctor who is an expert on people in your situation is like trying to win the lottery. In all honesty, You'll probably find alot more information online than from your local doctor if you know where to look.

Unfortunately bro, I think you might need HRT. Please let us know if you find anything that fixes you situation.

Best of luck Bro.

How were you feeling before your first cycle? If you could estimate test... high low average?

this is exactly what i have run into as well. dont even talk natural supps to them. and so i mention aromasin clomid she starts writing says she has to look these things up. thats were i stoped talking. find a good endo is hard you dont just want a script for test. you want what your body needs to function properly. good luck bro.

At your age an ENDO may give you a series of HCG injects to try to get you going again naturally.
