I cant stand Vista yet either. Maybe the first service pack will straighten out some issues, but I'm not a fan whatsoever. I still prefer XP Pro 64bit Edition, even for gaming. You would need an X64 bit capable processor to install it, and if not I would run the normal 32 bit version. 64 bit really shines on stability as it was not made from and previous version of XP or Win2000, it was actually built from Server 2003. Games have begun trickling in on the 64 bit platform and things like Half-Life 2-64 are SOOO much better in their 64 bit form. i also have not come across and application that does not run correectly on it in a while. In other words 32 bit software runs fine.
