Weight Equipment

Hello. The school I lift at lost their equipment. Does anyone know of a good place to shop for commercial grade equipment? They're scrambling to get the stuff for football. There aren't machines but they need benches, dumbbells and plates at good prices. Actually there is a lat machine and a bent row. Can you guys give me a direction? Thanks in advance.

i started to go this route but couldnt afford the shipping, if you can find a lot that is close it is worth it to go inspect and then bid. let me know how things turn out

You can type in "craigs list" and your town and see what is posted. Sometimes people dump entire equipment sets because they fell off the fitness wagon.

Those didn't turn anything up but thank you. I think shipping will kick our ass, too. Man, there is all kinds of freaky shit on Craigs list.

Due to the fact that gyms go out of business alot, check with Precor/Icarian directly. They sell off-lease and repossession equipment fairly cheap and offer financing.

How did they "lose" their equipment? Misplaced? Stolen? Reposessed?

Yeah, lost is poor wording. The equipment was donated from an out of business gym. Thats what we thought anyway. The owner claimed it wasn't and sold it to a guy opening a gym. It was all 18 yr old home made equipment so I think the guy is nuts for buying it. The only serious loss is the DB set. Michigan is in a vise financially as far as schools go so affording it is a bitch for them. I'm going to do what I can but I'll only make a small dent in what they need. I got involved because I was afraid of some admin turbo geek buying equipment for the kids and not knowing dick about lifting. The last football coach(didn't know dick) bought a leg press most of you guys could break. I'm pushing towards comptetition grade so it'll last 50 yrs.
