Just going off that 21 year old thread....LOL....

I just want to first thank everyone here at Promuscle esp. Massive G, Phil Hernon, Baldnazi, Iabadman for educating us (well at least me) on the importance of getting my bloodwork done and contributing to the threads and what to do to get your panels in check....

The first time I did get it done was May of this year and it wasn't good.....I was pretty scared to be honest and it opened my eyes about alot of things...

My may results I was not doing too well, my main concearn was: My HDL, it was 18, ALT & AST where in the high hundreds( both around 165 & 170), my creatinine was 1.7......Those were the one really skewed.....

Well now I want to report that my HDL is now 46...
My ALT & AST are in the 50's....But my creatinine is still high at 1.5...Does anyone have any advice on how to get that down??

Again thanks everyone..

Did you take any meds for the HDL?If yes what kind?

Sorry buddy I forgot about you!!..

You too JT! You were also another guy on here whose threads and posts about your blood work prompted me to get it done and pay more attention to it...Thanks buddy!

Here is the supplement protocol I started immediately:
No flush Niacin 1000mg at night
1 Big fish oil cap in the morning ( It comes in my Sci-Fit vitamin pack I take)
1 Tablespoon of Flax oil at night with my shakes
1 Baby aspirin
1 sesamin at night
3 fish oil caps at night

My diet is fairly consistinent, except for the occaisonal burger and fries....Ibiserker knows how much I like Fries!! LOL...

That's awesome work with good results. It may be hard to get the creatinine down further since you carry more muscle mass than the general population. Since you have more muscle there is more by creatine for the kidneys to process hence the higher readings. 1.5 does not sound outrageous to me.

Were you using lots of orals before?

IT COMES OUT IN YOUR POSTS.....I LIKE IT. I AM GLAD YOU ARE HEALTHY!

MY MOM WAS ON THE AMBULANCE CREW ALL THROUGH MY HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE YEARS....SHE TOOK MY BLOOD PRESSURE LAST WEEKEND AND IT WAS....GET THIS.....121/70!! THAT MUCH LOWER THAN IT WAS WHEN I WAS CONSISTANTLY 290, EATING WHATEVER...AND NOT WATCHING SODIUM ETC....SO I AM HAPPY.

I'VE GOT TO GET BLOOD WORK DONE AGAIN HERE SOON.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING ....YOU ARE HELPING ME TOO.

BD,
When did you get blood pulled?
(How many days after training?)

I followed your instructions:

-I didn't train for 2 days
-I drank over 11/2 gallons of water
-I have been taking Kre-Alkyln 3gr Pre and PWO w/ my waxy Maize

That's awesome news, Franco! :)

since you mentioned niacin helped in lowering your cholesterol, I was listening to the news the other day with a discussion with a doctor about heart disease and he mentioned that niacin was very effective for improving cholesterol profiles but you never hear about it because there are no big drug companies advertising or promoting it. They would rather sell you the big bucks Lipitor.

Well they have prescription strength Niacin called Niaspan but from my friends that have taken it have stated that OTC no flush niacin is just as effective and I know people on here have said the same thing as well, I went with the OTC first to see how if it would help then go with prescription strength if it wasn't helping.....

OK the high creatine levels are from the KRE.
I'd be off the next time I got them pulled and you'll see that they are OK.;)

You could replace the baby aspirin with bromelain as well.

I know, I read your posts on that too.....I bought one of those Mega bottles of Baby Aspirin from Costco and I am down to my last twenty.....Once I am out I switching over to Bromelain as well....Thanks for that too Massive..

Glad you got your stuff together, are you going to monitor yourself a little closer now? :D

Franco - what was your LDL and chol/HDL ratio for this recent test?

bump for Franco

Like previously mentioned...it's hard to get the creatinine down with the amount of muscle your carrying. I believe mine is higer than yours. My Dr said if I was a skinny 80 year old man with some health problems, I'd probably be in renal failure. However, he said I'm ok and he just bkeeps a watch on it.

i hear you on the creatinine . listen this though . 1.5 ain't nothing compared to the 4.9 which i had , when my blood was taken in october '06 . they diagnosed me with kidney failure etc,, and wanted me to go under the knife . i had to see an nephrologist first . i knew i had these high levels from the cee i was taking 2 hours pre blood test . i also did dc - training the day before and also cardio 4 hours pre blood test . lol . they made me collect my urine over a 48 hour period .
a second blood test proved their first diagnose wrong . thank god , i knew what it caused , i just forgot about the blood test and did not pay attention . i also had a nice breakfast before the test...........anyways , just wanted to let you know about my story ...
how are things going now ??
