what do you guys take when the insomnia hits?

Advil PM works better than Tylenol PM. I have tried many otc and still have a hard time. Everything works for a short time.

I have actually struggled with this for some time and tried these to name a few:

tylenol PM
unisom
benadryl

Rx
sonata
lunesta
ambien

In the last couple months I have been using USP Labs REM R3G and loving it for both my gf and myself. Within 10 minutes of taking it, I cannot even keep my eyes open. I am laying there having a conversation with my gf, and boom, I am listening but just don't have the energy to respond. That is usually it, as long as the conversation was not on something of importance, b/c if that is the case, I will get yelled at and elbowed for passing out on her, lol...btw, there is definitly something going on with this product, as every night since I started, I wake up in a pool of sweat, to the point where I must lay down towels....

I wont get into RX Barbs or Seditives-wont even try Ambien; Most all have bad sides and addictive qualities. Im an ex-drug addict, so I stay away! I use Benadryl-generic store brand. 25mg Diphenhodromine-same active ingredient as Tylenol PM, Sominex, but lots cheaper.
Melatonin is a precourser to Tryptophan. But after I use Malatonin for
awhile its stops working. But if you use it once in a while it works good.
for some reason, benedryl actually keeps me awake.

unison is the only sleeping pill that works for me and if I take more than half, i am groggy all the next day.

I never knew so many people has trouble sleeping...with that being said I love melatonin and phenibut. Just remember that taking too much phenibut will give you a hangover the next day.

L-Tryptophan will do the trick too though. Good ol' amino acids.
Turkey is High in that amino acid....no wonder thanksgiving dinners make me tired!
 
Well....

L-tryptophan is legal now, as has been said in an earlier post.
I've not tried phenibut.
GABA works ok for me. High doses of L-taurine work ok for me. Clonidine works well. If I'm having a real bad problem I'll resort to mirtazapine/remeron, the stuff works like a charm, but if you use too much you're sleepy all day long the next day....
some herbs can be helpful, but I personally usually have to take quite a bit for an effect. Valerian root, hops, skullcap, kava kava....oh, and calcium and magnesium can be helpful as well.
I do use melatonin as well.
Geez that was a long post, hope it made sense, I'm sleepy....
 
With sleeping pills you shouldnt fiddle!

Hey bros, stay away from the sleeping pills! that crap will just make your insomnia worse in the long run. Coral calcium is great for a restful sleep. the cal/ magnesium combo will give you a restful sleep.combine with 500- 1000mg vitamin c will put you into deep REM sleep. also B-6 will help you dream in color! if you are dreaming you are in deep REM sleep. Also cut back on any stimulants late in the day! I can only have coffee in the morning. if i have any caffiene later in the day it fucks up my sleep. melatonin leaves me feeling groggy. If you have to take a med , make it benadryl. but if you do , also take 2-3 coral calciums and some vit-c. peaceout! sweetdreams homies!
