Good morning PM!
Tren has me up early as hell so I knocked out my cardio(currently prepping for a competition about 6 weeks away) and I was pondering a few things on it.
This will be my 2nd competition. I really enjoyed my first, took about 2.5 years off and will hopefully be about 15lbs heavier this go around, I can see that I've made a lot of progress.
This last off season I did a fair job of keeping body fat in check, but I didn't have a scientific plan to adding calories.
This time around I'll be using John Meadow's ebook on that end of things, so hopefully I've got the science of that part down.
I guess what made me ponder this(in case anyone is curious) is that I friggin love how things are looking right now, I've got veins places I've never had before(finally my right calf has some!!!!) and I feel great. Strength is starting to wane a bit as the body fat gets lower. I am struggling mentally with staying uber lean at the expense of slower muscle gain, or putting on a bit of fat & growing faster(a slightly higher body fat leads to better growth, correct?) At one point I did a REALLY heavy bulk & got fat as hell, and will not do that again.
My question for you is when you are in a growth phase, what do you use as an indicator that you've reached a level where you are gaining more fat than muscle? I am pretty consistent on taking photos, caliper measurements, etc...
