Where is your spirituality?

I have seen many posts concerning personal, family, and mates hardship or loss on this forum.

The replies to the posts are usually encouraging to the person who may have felt pain or anxiety and I notice many of the replies make statements concerning God.

So, a question is...are you in touch with your spirituality?

(this is not a question for you to answer personally here)

We spend so much time on our:

mental: university, reading about biology/physiology etc...
physical: training and exercise

but do you spend time on your spiritual? or is that something you pay atttention AFTER the tragedy or concern? Do you think spirituality complements sport/physical activity?

I notice many top american athletes thank God when they do interviews whereas it is very rare to hear people from other countries doing that.

You talking about Religion or spirituality.
They are not the same.

most americans are pretty dumb, professional sports or olympic competitors are no different.

i just try to be nice to the people that help me...and be thankful for what i have and dont focus on what i dont have...thats about as spiritual as i get...

Im a soldier of Christ

Im a spiritual person i guess you could say, i say my prayers and thank the lord every chance i get , i also have helped out donating money and time with the poor and the homeless children. So yes i beleive being spiritual is a great thing.

No I did not mention religion. I only posted about spirituality. Each of these are personal choices.

I am not sure why a person would see American athletes as dumb? What is that about? Is it because they thank God for their athletic abilities so they are viewed as dumb?

To me spirtuality means my belief in Jesus Christ....thats what it means to me. I try to do what is right and think of others first. I believe that and was raised with a strong sense of faith. I feel that the best I can do is live my life the best I can and try to serve God.

I pray all day, every day. I consider myself very spiritual. As for religion, I am catholic.

Im a christian till the day i die, i will profess Jesus's name even if it meant death. Up until recently i called myself a christian but wasnt living up to my part of the deal. God has blessed me in so many ways and i had nothing to show God for what He has done, so i decided a week or two ago, to get reconnected with God and rededicated myself. I realize that i put to many priorities before God, almost idolizing (false gods) if you will. I learned that if you take just a little time out a day to break open your Bible and have a talk with God helps out alot. Im also trying to help others whenever they need help. Jesus says, "if you profess my name before others, i will profess your name before my Father."

I think athletes thanking God is a joke! Was God rooting for their team that day? Did God have a few $K on the over? I know I know, they're "thanking" God for blessing them with their abilities and to be where they are in life. But a Christian thanks God, do you really belive these guys lead a Chrisitan life? I've been around these people and I'm not buying it. Our country is in a spiritual\religious revival now, and for the most part, I think it's superficial.

i am an american and think most americans are dumb..

i seriously think that one day one guy or girl thanked god after a sporting event and then everyone else just followed along not cuz they mean it but becuasee someone else did it..

thats usually the way this country goes.

Its about us...not them

Ok well with this post...I suppose I was just bringing up ideas for us to think about personally.

My intent was not to have countries labelled based on intellect or athletes identified as hypocritical.

Its about US...or YOU...not THEM.

Iam a devout catholic always have and will, its a part of who iam and what i will always be.

tough thread guys..

I think that all spirituality / religion .. however you want to see it.. is good.. as long as the intent behind actions and thoughts comes from the heart.. and without malicious intent..

The belief in a higher power .. whether it be Catholicism.. Budhism.. you name it.. I dont' think they are wrong.. just different in some ways.. But, like I said.. none of them are wrong.. when actions are from the heart.. with the intentions of doing good..

Make sense??

Mzzzzzzzzz
