Having just read this article about gene therapy tendon repair...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7176360.stm
...it got me thinking about how far medicine has come in the past 20-30 years in joint/tendon repair surgeries. As lifters, this is a cold reality we sometimes face. Now we use scopes vs. laying you open as it used to be done orginally. Recovery time is a fraction of what is used to be. There is ongoing research in stem cells and advancements in joint replacement continues.. an anesthesiologist told me one time, that the person that finally makes the breakthrough to re-grow cartilage will be a very rich person. What are your predictions where we will be in another 10-20 years?
