seperate todays bodybuilders with the older ones ( haney, arnold, zane )
or is that too vague of a question to be answered? todays bbers are obviously much larger in every way, their bone density is much higher as well as much larger and more round muscle. are there any specific steroids that are a key component in the mass of todays bbers that didnt exist back then?

While GH/Insulin have made a 20 pound difference I'd say that the change in judging standards is a bigger element.

If you watched this years NPC USA videos and then go and look at the NPC Nationals from 91 you'll see a different winning physique. If you reward size over symmetry then that's what you get.

many things..

As others have said GH and insulin are a big reason, but there are many other reasons. A much better understanding of nutrition is a huge one, not to mention the leaps and bounds we've made with understanding how to mix and match your andros/anabolics, supplements, etc etc. The short story is it isn't just the drugs that produced the dramatic change from Arnold's era BB's to todays, it is a laundry list of things. Training hard and eating big never hurt though!
