I was considering getting a new Inzer belt for my heavy ending sets of squats.
If you do use belts, straps, wraps gloves when do use them if at all. I was thinking straps for my last few sets of deads or rows. That way my grip would strengthen with the first and same for squats. I figured my back woul work but then towards the end of the sets when they are heavier I could cinch up the belt...

|--[\\\]>--------- I dont use gloves, i love the roughness of my hands (except during those lonely nights :D ) but i DO use chalk. as for belt, i've laid off a TAD...i used to wear it no matter what i was doing, now i only wear it for legs, back, and shoulder presses. as for straps...YES...especially on back day, shrugs, and hammmies (stiff-legs)...there is no way in hell i could pull as much weight as i do without straps. IMO, i think straps are a must. My hats off to all the pwrlftrs who can pull a 500 lbs dead with there bare hands!

Yeha I like to keep my grip strength up so Im going to try to only use straos when my grip is fatigued which should be the last few sets.....I want to incorporate a wrist wrap withour using gloves though for bench and such...

I used to wear a belt for everything - now I just use it for t-bar rows (unsupported), and bent-over barbell rows. Basically, anytime my back is in a "prone" position with lots of weight being moved.

I use straps for trap workouts. There is no way my grip would keep up with my traps while doing shrugs - either barbell or dumbell. I also use straps for back work - pulldowns, rows, etc.

Never used chalk, never wrapped anything.

FUNNY: The other day I saw a kid (literally, I think he was about 17), who weighed about 110 lbs, in my gym. It was 4:30 AM and this poor kid was so skinny it looked silly that he was wearing a tank top. His 1980's style "muscle pants" didn't help the situation either. Plus, he was about as white as a sheet. He loads a 10 lb. plate onto each side of a Smith machine and proceeds to put the bar pad on. I'm thinking to myself, "Does he really need a pad for 20 lbs?" Then he reaches into his gym bag that he's been carrying around with him, and he pulls out two extra-long knee wraps. Around and around he goes, it must have taken him about 15 minutes to wrap both knees. Then he squats, I'd guess a few sets of about 15 reps - pretty good form. It made me laugh... We were all newbies once!

I remembered that incident reading this thread because I remember thinking, "Is he going to use chalk too?"

Never use gloves - I like it rough too... LOL @ BBA

Almost always were wrist wraps - usually rist-lok which I really like a lot
Only wear belt for squats and deadlifts
Only wear knee wraps for heavy leg presses or squats
Only wear elbow wraps for heavy bench presses or shoulder presses.
Use straps only on back day, and only for heaviest sets or when I'm fatigued.

Ya, I got a lot of equipment but I usually only use 1-2 things during any given workout. Basically I got too many skeletal problems not use these things anymore.

|--[\\\]>---------- I'm surprised he didn't chalk up his back too b4 he squated....LOL...4:30am...dear god, what are you doing up so early?

I wear a Cardillo belt for just about everything.
Wrist wraps for chest and pressing motions.
Straps for back and always chalk no gloves.

...

Straps on some back movements. Need them. Wraps never (yet). Belt not often.

I have some old tyre inner tubes cut into small palm-sized circles I use for grip. Some of the newer bars and dbells don't have the grip of old stuff, and the rubber sticks perfectly, just where I grip.

Straps on heavy lat/trap and dumbeell curl sets.
No gloves but chalk on heavy pulling sets.
Belt on heavy squats/rows-deads/shrughs.

i never use gloves..
i only use wraps when i am doing back but only on sets that i can not complete the full reps do to grip loss not strength loss...
belts..hmm use to use them then i let my body catch up and now i do not need them..but squats are a good place to use them if you do and only on heavy sets..IMO..
good luck and train safe and smart

I never use any aids except for straps on deadlift. I have to since my right hand doesn't close properly after sawing it nearly off. I suppose I don't really need one on my left hand, but I'm afraid I'd get a big ass left forearm and have a smaller right one, so I just wear straps on both hands.

When I do squats I only wear a see through thong.

ever since xcel came down and work out i stop using my belt except for tbar rows. i use straps for rows too . thats it.
