ok i live in nj and right now its about 85 90 and humid as hell.im trying to drink as much water and take in as much calories as possible.. is there anything else i could be doing bc im trying to bulk im 6'3 230lbs 20 years old and a competitor as well , in the winter i put on size well , but the heat in the summer kills me .. any advice on that??

I feel your pain. Im in construction an I tell ya some days are just Brutal!
Hard to go eat a hot lunch when its 95^ out,lol

Pack you some weightgainers to work, I like to mix mine with oatmeal
and slam em down every few hours on your breaks.
Just try and make sure your taking more in then your burning off.
remember not to go in On an empty stomach.. say you eat dinner
or your last protein shake even as late as 10-11pm well
the next day eat something first thing.. atleast a weightgainer or protein shake. if not your looking at a long time without food.

Im the same way, hard for me to put on pounds in the summers here.
I need one of them cozy office and suit jobs ;)
then Id be bitching about getting soft though. goodluck
 
I use pediasure(sp) its like ensure but for kids,I get it by the cases. It seems to keep/put the weight on. I mix a can of it up with some protein, its like a meal in a can.
 
I know how you feel bro. I do lawn care and these hot and humid temps here in MD will fry you. The past few years I have learned not to even try to bulk during the summer. I drink water and protein shakes all day. I have tried to force myself to eat thoughout the day but I end up puking. I just bulk in the winter and through spring...works for me and my career.

this year is hard on me too.i do masonry work and the heat just zaps me,i can't eat from about 11am till about 6pm if i do i can't work and i bloat bad, so i eat a huge bkfast and eat again at 8am then at 10 or 11am i try to get 1000 cals per meal with low glycemic carbs then i eat small when i get home, take a nap and hit the gym after it cools down, then eat a big dinner :)
like doggtales said fall through spring is my best time to gain weight

ok if any of you guys compete whens the best time to pick a show , doing the kind of work we do?
 
If ur gonna do a summer show do an early summer one. Once u get ur motabolism kickin like that the way u work, ur gonna drop muscle fast and its gonna be hard to match calorie intake for ur diet with the way u work and ur training (cause ur burning a shitload). Id pick a winter show if i were u, because u can more accuratly control and guage ur calorie input and output and diet correctly without droppin half ur muscle mass, which u cant afford to do at ur height.

If i were u, id probably get 2shaker bottles and put ur nlarge powder in there and mix it up every 3hrs and slam that along with a peanutbutter sandwich. The fat in the peanutbutter will slow obsorption over a longer period of time so the nlarge is more obsorbed and doesnt run right through you, plus the extra fat cals in the PB will help. I know u like to nap on ur lunch break, but id eat a quick real big meal first to insure u got ur macronutrients flowin. Drink gatoraid or snapple or a drink high in sugar while u work also. I know ur not worried about adding fat cause ur already ripped yr round. Now top this all off with a huge breakfast (maybe 8-10 eggs and sum oatmeal) before you leave for work, and a huge meal soon as u get home from work and ur golden. Remember ur gonna be somewhat depleated after u get off work (kinda like post workout) so a bunch of simple sugars again will help.

TPRU thats exactly wat i do now, i stay away from gatorade but ill have a snapple diet and pedialite no high sugars b,c oblviously they will speed me up thus burniing more fat, so thats wat i do
