Nick walker out of the Olympia

I never said anything about men in combat. I was taking about victims, children of abuse. Much different than a grown man who made his choice. So I’m not sure why you even said that. But those men signed up for that job no one forced them my oldest boy is one of them. It would be a different story had they been drafted then it wasn’t their choice. Im
Glad for their service but those things come with that career path. We all know that. They knew it too. I said real men don’t victimize themselves. None of the soldiers I know including my son expect any sympathy. I have all the respect in the world for grunts who served in combat.
Fair, but then again i dont get this comment ?
"Victimizing yourself is not what real men do. Sorry. I am not sympathetic for people seeking sympathy. Man up and move on. Not everyone lets tragedy predict their outcome in life. If your still breathing youv got a chance."
Nick didnt choose to be sexually abused as a kid ? and he isnt seeking sympathy he didnt mention it now i did... i personally know 2 victims of sexual assault and have seen upclose how it can fuck ppl up, we dont all react the same.. so saying "man up and move on" thats imo pure BS..

Shawn Ray told the ninja story he said he accused flex of putting calf implants, and demanded he gets checked by doctors. The next day Flex shows up to the press conference of the 97 Olympia with a broken arm etc.. and said as he was driving in the night and a couple of asians attacked him with knives, so Shawn said "so a couple of ninjas attacked you at night" 😂😂😂

Probably dont need a discussion about sexual assault.
Bodybuilding Forum after all.
@b-boy this is why I said it should be locked.

This thread was turning into a great discussion until this subject took off along with the “gay” comments.

Maybe the mods just need to give warnings or clean it up, but I think we should stick to bodybuilding on here IMO.

There’s been been more athletes who have dropped out this year as well. That topic of why and how they do it I think is a great one.

I’m with Brad we should let it run and it will work itself out. I’m also with you bbx we should stay on topic!

This was just a misunderstanding about a subject people feel strongly about and I totally understand feeling the need to “clarify” our statements when we are misinterpreted. If we can stay on topic we don’t have to defend ourselves and turn the thread the wrong direction. No fault, no blame. Moving on..

I’ll keep the discussion going. Another one. I think his reasons and announcement were handled much better. It’s Ryan Terry’s show to lose this year with his top rivals out.

Yeah I feel for the guy and have mad respect for him as he pushed harder and through it all and went to Vegas with comprised health. He made the right call IMO and love his transparency.

I don’t understand the idea of locking a thread down when there is legitimate discussion stemming off the given topic. A long running thread becomes long running because people are enjoying engaging in the discussion. That’s why we are here. It’s like stopping production of a popular item because it’s becoming too popular. If you don’t enjoy the thread then don’t partake. I could see locking the thread if there is a dumb fight.

Thoughts??

Good video! Makes logical sense to me. Nick won’t win with the later years gut of Ronnie. Ronnie had God genetics/aesthetics, so he could pull it off, but was still penalized in the end.

So you think engaging or allowing discussions here that revolve around the topic of being gay or child abuse within a bodybuilding thread is something that should be allowed…

I do not enjoy that thread and would hope you or anyone would not either. If you do that’s between yourself and something much bigger. To each their own.

I don’t believe anyone here had bad intentions at all. It’s my opinion that we should stay on topic.

This seems more like the cause. I kind of feel like he went too hard too fast. Hopefully he can turn it around and get back on stage with a physique he's proud of. Or he's going to need some therapy and move on from competition.

Nick has spent a decade turning shit genetics into being a top 3 Olympia. Even if he never competed again, it’s still one hell of an accomplishment.

This! I see people saying all the time how he just blew up but if you look back it still took him years and resulted in one of the most impressive transformations I’ve seen

If it is due to health probs I wonder if Matt Jansen will be able to come
Back from yet another health related athlete issue not that I necessarily think he’s got insane protocols he just works with extreme guys

Nick and Matt will be fine. They are like brothers from the way things seem. They’re good for each other.

In my opinion Nick will be back. He’s had positive support on his withdrawal from Chris, Chad Nichols, Lee Priest and others. There’s likely just more to this than they have shared. In time, I’m sure they will.

Plus he won an Arnold Classic in 2021. I think next year he needs to compete at least 2 times, just go to smaller shows and dominate them and then go to the Olympia. Right now he has the best side chest, side tri, most muscular and a very good back double and front lat spread.

I honestly don’t know if I agree.

Sayings it’s just down to insulin resistance would mean its visceral fat causing it right? But would that not just be lost by…. Dieting? As well as improve the insulin resistance?

Also what he said regarding not digesting carbs simply made no sense to me. If he wasn’t digesting carbs he’d simply be shitting them out and losing weight RAPIDLY.

The idea of IGF abuse leading to overall systemic growth however does make sense to me possibly.

If pushing harder was not the right decision is that a coaching error? Should they have known what the consequences would be? The video made it sound like it was an obvious mistake to push given the situation but is it that simple?

Impossible to comment specifically on their situation cause we don’t know

But in general 50/50 you hire a coach for their guidance and they have some form of duty of care (I believe) but also they don’t make you do anything it’s just their opinion up to you whether you do it or not
