quick question... My half brother whom is 13 likes working out, what is the word on this stunting growth? hes not doint squats or anthing, thus not compressing spine.....
Stunted growth? No. As long as he does not do load bearing movements (heavy squats, deadlifts, etc. ) there should be no problems. By the time he reaches 16 or so he should be good to go.

No it wont. Squats and deads are fine too. Seriously, kids put more stress on their joints and spines by running and jumping, and clearly we dont see everybody who runs and jumps come out short.
i don't see how lifting would affect the epiphysial(sp) discs. its possible i guess. the main thing to make sure he grows to his potential is proper nutrition.
