Yo North Carolina peeps!

Burnt out on my current location and opportunities, and considering relocation to either Cary (I have friends & family there) or Wilmington. I'm single with no kids, and I run a regional type MMA promotion (which I'd continue to run in NC, SC, and Virginia). I also do freelance graphics/video and PT on the side.

For anybody in, or familiar with, the area, how's the local economy? Solid gyms in the area? Friendly people, hot womenfolk? Decent and affordable housing/rentals?

Any info would be appreciated!

I use to live in cary,WAY to uppidity for me.but if you are young enough there are 4 colleges on 1 road and 2 all women colleges and you can find a party everynite of the week.Wilmington would be my bet because of the beach.If bisness wise MMA is real big in the fayetteville/Raleigh area.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to second that one. MMA would probably be more lucrative in the Raleigh area.

Cary is just a high-priced suburb of Raleigh.

I prefer the beach, but I may be moving to Cary before long myself.

As far as the MMA gig, I don't necessarily need to live in the town where I hold events. In my current location, I run a three state area, and if I relocate to NC, I'll probably run 3-4 cities in NC, and shows in VA & SC.

I'm in my early 40's, so I'm not in need of a heavy party scene. I pretty much focus on work & working out. I'm pretty laid back & boring.

As far as the MMA stuff, Raleigh is the better bet... But if you don't have to live in town, Wilmington is definitely a better place to live in my opinion.
