He's got less then a year to live. Prostate cancer.
Saw him on Inside Edition, looked real bad......
I loved this guy. Shame................

He's having to spend the last months of his life trying to stop his old lady from taking everything for herself. Sad.

Yeah I saw that.

He says he's weighing around 100 lbs. Sad man..

When I saw him I thought he was Kirk Douglas at first who I can't
believe is still alive.

this is so upsetting to me...

he is one of GREATEST actors.
performances in:
Easy Rider
Apocolypse Now
Cool Hand Luke (as a very young man)
Speed
True Romance (1 of the best scenes in cinema history w Christopher Walken)
and more....
that really sucks. makes me feel like i am getting old.
god bless and hope he is pain free. -JS

I agree, great actor and as you mentioned a great body of work. To add to your list, the drunken father "shooter" in Hoosiers. If you remember the commercials from the early 90's were he kind of reprised his Apocolypse Now role for the Bruce Smith "bad things man"

Jack Nicholson, Viggo Mortensen, David Lynch Star Frail Dennis Hopper
Gina Serpe, eonline

Dennis Hopper received a much needed boost this morning, making a rare public appearance as he accepted the 2,403rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The two-time Oscar nominee, who is in the midst of both a debilitating battle against prostate cancer and an increasingly acrimonious divorce , arrived for the ceremony just before 11:30 a.m.

Jack Nicholson, Viggo Mortensen, David Lynch, Michael Madsen, Danny Trejo, Johnny Mathis and Dwight Yoakam were among the celebrity friends and costars who turned up to fete the ailing 73-year-old, who blamed a paparazzi-induced fall outside his home for the bandages he was sporting on his face and hand.

"Everyone here today that I've invited [has] enriched my life tremendously," Hopper said.

"They've shown me a world that I would never have seen being a farm boy from Dodge City, Kan., and learning things I would never have learned.

"Everything I've learned in my life I learned from you and the wonderful world that I traveled and saw...well, I got it all from you. This has been my home and my school. And I love all of you. I just want to thank you. This means so much to me, and thank you very much, everyone."

How could you not mention Blue Velvet? Epic flick!

I have James Dean's "Rebel Without a Cause" on DVD and to this day can't believe that one of the hoods chasing James Dean in the movie is a very young Dennis Hopper. He has had a long career!

yeah I was gonna say

Blue Velvet was vintage Dennis Hopper. I am probably going to catch some hell for this; but I really liked him in Waterworld, made me laugh my ass off. Of course, I like those strange, dystopic, mad-max type flicks. lol.

very sad to see him go out like this, especially the shit his wife is putting him through

damn that really is very sad,he is a great actor and has always been one of my favorites.he could always play one of the very best villans in the movies,I always loved him for that
